Good Morning, Friends!

This week I made a winter variety of Minestrone soup. I may change the herbs, but will post of the recipe. Otherwise, you can give me suggestions. (Please)

Today, we're under another snow warning AND we celebrate another birthday. More slow travel, but Grandpa and Grandma can't miss the celebration.

~~Vicki

PattiT - I didn't even know it was Friday the 13th yesterday! Hoping your son has a good move today. And, your cards get sent. I don't know where your husband is going in Montana, but I do know that some Interstate highways are closed due to high winds. We had to warn relatives/friends when they visited us from out of state.

Fan - Did you accomplish everything yesterday? You're doing a lot of what I'm doing... sorting and getting rid of outdated books and more. What did you make for dinner?

Martha - How great to see you post! What a lot of snow for you, too! How nice to make all those cookies. AND, what a great present... a Kitchenaid stand mixer!

Hi Vicki and everybody else, have a smashing weekend.

Vicki, congrats on the B-day and off course Grandpa and Grandma have to go Wink . Have fun and drive carefully.
Martha you lucky girl, a kitchen aid Cool .
PattiT, are your hubby and son on the way to Montana now?
I spent my day chilling out at the pet shop as usual and started sorting out the magazines this afternoon. Managed to get half a box done. Managed to dry my laundry outside as well, the weather was sunny, warm and windy. Exactly what I needed. No plans for tomorrow, apart from sleeping in Very Happy

Good morning ladies.
I hope everyone is having a good weekend.
Yesterday was my birthday and I received a beautiful bouquet of roses from Krys and Brian, and he was the one that ordered them for me. I was very impressed.

Caliber had a ball with the box they came in.

Krys had to have hernia surgery last week, She is healing up pretty good.
We took Caliber back to his grandparents yesterday. Becky will be coming home on Tuesday.
Yesterday, my aunt and uncle's house caught fire and burned to the ground. They have been living there for 40 plus years. So many memories gone up in smoke. I am trying to find as many pictures of the family as I can and going to put together a scrapbook for them. I put out a message on facebook for all of my cousins to send whatever they have to me. They are both in their 70's.
I have been making candy for the last couple of days for gifts, chocolate covered cherries, key lime, strawberry, orange, creme de menthe, caramels, fantasy fudge, some with pecans, white fudge with cherries, choc pretzels, chocolate covered oreos. I am still thinking of what else to make. My sister wants a bunch to give for presents too, so I am going to mail her some tomorrow.
I guess I need to go back and read what everyone has been up to on here. Hope you are staying warm. It isn't going to get above the mid 30's today. Good day to work in the kitchen some more.

Hi everybody, have a fantastic Sunday Very Happy

Grammadot, congrats on your B-day. Sorry for being late Embarassed . I haven't got any beautiful flowers, but please accept these sweet ones Wink

You probably have made lots of them too for your cakes.
Glad to hear Krys is recovering pretty nice.
I had a brown bean marathon this weekend. Just like we had at home when I was little and mum more busy preparing for the Christmas dinners than bothering about the dinners the few days before. The first day we'd have plain brown beans with fried smoked bacon and lots of pickles and onions. The second day she'd make brown bean potato mash with fried smoked bacon and gherkins

and the last of the brown beans would be turned in to a soup with veggies and belly pork.

Spent quite some time playing with Myo today. Yesterday I bought her a new mouse to play with which I gave her this morning. She wrestled with it ferociously for almost about half an hour Laughing ,

then she decided it was beaten and killed enough and went back to sleep. Smile

Hello girls. Hubby and son are in Ohio, on their way to Montana. The weather here has been awful but they sent me pictures of the dry roads where they are. Makes me feel a little less worried. They just called and were stopping for fuel. The snow held off enough for my son to get moved yesterday. He called and was very sad, said he had lived in that house for 1/4 of his life and was sad to be all moved out.
**Vicki I hope your travel to the birthday celebration was an easy one. I got my Christmas cards in the mail yesterday, glad that is done. My son and hubby are going to Billings Montana. I didn't know, or didn't remember that you had lived in Montana. My hubby said that where they are going is the second windiest city in the U.S.
**Fan, what animal did you spend time with yesterday? Did Myo allow you to sleep in today? Brrrr, I can't imagine drying clothes outside. I bet they smell good.
**Patti, that is awful to imagine, your aunt and uncle losing their home like that. It is very nice of you to try to gather pictures for them. Good to hear that Krys is healing up well. I saw pictures of your goodies on Facebook, they sure looked yummy.

The sun is shining brightly now, I hope it melts a lot of the snow. I need to go get clothes out of the dryer. I hope my post doesn't disappear, both my laptop and my desktop keep saying my programs are not loading and then it shuts down. Wish me luck,

PattiT, I spent some quiet quality time with the fish Laughing . Myo did give me about an hour to sleep in this morning. By 8am she decided it was long enough and woke me up Rolling Eyes Good to hear the weather held up for your son and hubby to move.
