Good Morning, Friends!

The heat has not arrived yet, and the house fan was on bringing in all the cool morning air (70 F). I may do a bake a currant quick bread this morning before it becomes too hot. Are you experiencing these hot temperatures today?

From yesterday:
Fan - Your salad looks delicious! What are the ingredients? Were all the Dutch flags flying at half mast? (Quite an interesting visitor while you had coffee!) Smile

Martha - How soon will you receive your glasses? Do you get anti-glare and other options that the optical department offers? Hoping you have or had a wonderful time celebrating your daughter's birthday! Smile

~~Vicki

Good morning Vicki and everybody else, have a brilliant start of the week Very Happy

Today is slightly cooler than yesterday, though the officce is still hot. The cooler weather probaly is a prelude to warmer weather from Wednesday on, again 85F and over.
Vicki, you better get that cake done before the heat kicks in Wink It may not cool off. My "salad" from yesterday was no salad, I had the salad for dinner but didn't take pics of it. In the pic was my lunch. I cooked up some noodles and had a quick stir fry of Pak choi, onions, chicken and mushrooms.
And yes all the buildings that usually fly flags had them fly at half mast on the day after the crash. In the Netherlands that are governmental buildings, musea and other public buildings (churches included), higher educational institutions and public organizations. As a private person you are allowed to put out the flag as well, but it's not mandatory.
Have a great day everybody and TTYL

Good morning girls, we had wonderful weather for the swim meets. Thankfully the one yesterday all of her events were before noon! It was starting to get very warm!
Yesterday was the All Star Championships and she won first place in all of her events, against 23 other swim teams in the area. Now she will move on to Mid-Caps which will be the finalists from the two different meets held yesterday from all the teams in Central PA. We are so proud of her.
With all of that going on, we didn't do much else. Some of us gathered locally and had a nice lunch at a restaurant along the river. We all had such a good time and of course great food.
Next Madison and some of her friends went swimming at an area pool, I guess they can never get enough swimming, ha ha.
Hubby and I went back to Darryl and Ann's and hubby helped trim a tree that was hanging over the neighbors property and away from power lines and their roof. They had quite a pile of branches to get rid of.
**Fan that salad did look good, I wonder why your little winged friend did not want to join you inside? Ha, ha.
**Martha, like Vicki said, there are so many options to choose from for glasses. I got the ones that change automatically to sunglasses when I am outside. I used to always forget to bring sunglasses or if I did remember I couldn't read on the beach or anything because I needed glasses to read. I hope you are equally happy with your glasses.
**Vicki, all those grandchildren, I am not sure I would have survived, although when you have more than one child it gives them some one to play with which often gives you a break. A currant quick bread sounds really good. Especially since I am very hungry right now.
I think I will go enjoy a nice tall glass of ice tea.
Have a wonderful day every one.

PattiT, didn't you jump into the water of joy after Madison's wins? Wink
It's raining softly over here and it really feels comfortable. Tomorrow temps will go up to 81F again with sunshine. Don't know whether I'll cook dinner or assemble a salad after work. We'll see...

Fan, you don't know how tempted I was to jump in that refreshing water. I think my granddaughter and the rest of the family would have been mortified!
I have a casserole in the oven, husbands request. Good thing we have air conditioning.

In that case it would have been priceless to see the look upon their faces Laughing
What's in the casserole?

The casserole had chicken, rice and carrots in a thickened broth.
