Good Morning, Friends!

Today I am sanding all the cabinets/cupboards with the painting on Monday. Several other household chores are on the agenda, too. Yesterday, we had a wonderful dinner with Eric and Abby.

Wishing each of you a wonderful weekend.

~~Vicki

Fan - Are the showers over so you can enjoy some time outside? Your white cabinets with a floor of blue tiles sound lovely!

PattiT - Aren't the cool nights special this time of year!

Ann - Thank you for sharing your chicken recipe!

Hi Vicki and everybody else, have a smashing weekend Very Happy

Vicki, I made the Koosa today. It was delicious. I made only one minor change since I didn't have dried mint, so I used a bit of fresh mint leaves instead. Served it with toasted Turkish pide bread and some of the cooking sauce. Yum. Very Happy

No showers today, but bright sunny spells and heavy winds. No mugginess, but nice and cool. Dried the laundry outside within 4 hours, just love it that way.
Had coffee on the pavement, gave fresh water to the bird spiders and some of the snakes in the pet shop, had a very refreshing nap with Myo on the couch and puttered around a bit in the house. Tomorrow there seems to be a picnic event in the park nearby. I might go and have a look if the weather holds up.

Fan - Your Koosa looks so yummy that I may take some out the freezer for dinner. The fresh mint leaves may taste even better than dried. The Turkish bread looks delicious, too.

I hope your lovely weather continues all weekend.

Thanks Vicki, I suppose it does. It got 3 views within 5 minutes after being posted on Flickr Laughing I still have quite a bit of cooking sauce left might use that for some kind of Chakchouka tomorrow. Simply by stewing some veggies, minced meat and eggs in it. No picnic for me tomorrow. Wink
How are the cabinets coming along?

The sanding is almost complete. I'm having Karl sand the cupboards near the ceiling... he definitely has the height. Smile

Morning,

Well, Friday we were down to 10 critters...then we ended up with 4 admits through the day then two more came yesterday. Crazy. Would like to have had the 10 critters for a few more days just for the break...but 15 to 16 critters is a good number, no one gets called off. Smile

Had a nice day yesterday, the weather was gorgeous all day - not too hot. Went for a walk over at the Battles Museum trail through the woods. Found the starting of some Indian Pipes
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monotropa_uniflora), I'm hoping no one tramples them before they grow more. They will definitely go into my book! Very Happy Cool Funny, I've seen wildflowers but I never SAW them...didn't realize PA had such a variety of flowers, even in our area, it's amazing. Then I went over to Elk Creek and walked around for a little. That's changed a lot, the swimming hole isn't there anymore, it's all filled in. With all the snow from winter and all the rain we've had it's changed Elk Creek.

Came home, made lunch, added a few more flowers to my book and just hung out the rest of the afternoon with the kitties.

Donna coming up next Sunday to spend the day with me. Smile Will be good, we both need it. Have a lot of reminiscing to do.

Vicki - someday will be redoing the kitchen, be tearing out the old cupboards and redoing the whole kitchen. The people that owned it before us, their dogs chewed on the corner of the cupboards. Rolling Eyes When we moved in we repaired them the best we could.

Fan - enjoy your coffee on the pavement. Smile No cocktails or was it too early?? It's good to lay down with the kitty and rest.

Better get around here, need to head out shortly.

Later,
Ann

...and the season is starting to change already. It's staying more dark in the morning when I go to work, and it's getting darker earlier at night, like 8:45. Blah. And the kids will be in school in another week or so! Shocked

Hi Ann-Marie and everybody else, have a great Sunday. Very Happy

Ann-Marie, I noticed the days are getting shorter too. Need to switch on the light again when I get up for work Sad . Isn't it amazing how much more you get to see once you start paying time and attention to your surroundings? Like the diversity in flowers and insects on them?
I intended to go over to the picnic event this afternoon, but it started raining so I ended up making dinner for lunch instead. Turned the leftover cooking sauce from the koosa into a yummy chakchouka. I love that dish, it takes care of all the veggie tidbits, and meat left over from other meals.

Hey Y'all:

I am spending a little more time on the puter. Have not been stopping by because no good things happening here. Don't want to sound like a broken record of doom. Very Happy

Quick fill in....my heart has not & will not improve. About all I can do is watch TV, read sedentary stuff. GS helps me cook & clean & picks me up off the floor when I fall. If I go all the way to the floor (which I usually do) I can't get up on my own. My oldest sister passed away on 7/10 the family always said we were bookends. I am the youngest & there was 16 years between her & I.
Doctor would not allow me to attend the memorial service or wake. Can't fly, I am less than one year away from bypass surgery. Sister-in-law passed in June, she is happy now - with my brother last time we talked she missed him terribly.
DH's Nursing home decided they wanted his entire SSD amount every month. So they had him sign over all of it to them. Not legal but I can't get a lawyer to get it back. Puts a strain on me & I start to get chest pains every time I try to handle it. Not counting that they have really cut me short on my budget. Will get in touch with DCF to see if they can help me.

OK....enough whining,

Y'all take care...
