Michael Vick is a disgusting thug, and I hope he and his cronies spend a long time in jail being punished for their atrocious crimes. Evil or Very Mad

However, I do think it's ironic, sad, disturbing, and disgusting that so many athletes, who are convicted of rape and/or assault (not just accused, but convicted), do not get nearly the same level of outrage from their leagues, the public, or the media.

the humane society was formed BEFORE the society to prevent child abuse!!! (it's true..the movement to protect children in the USA came after the sucess of helping abused cart horses)
a society that tolerates it's "heroes" for abusing animals will tolerate their OTHER serious cruelties...and there WILL be other cruelties, you can count on it...i'm so glad the ASPCA and the Humane Society joined forces to help in his conviction, and jailing..damn shame OJ didn't get caught by the ASPCA.
as for pitt bulls...the poor things...i too, know someone who has had them...their first one was such a sweetie, the cats would sit on his head until he'd have to shake them off to breathe, and their little bys would sit all over him, too...unfortunately, they would let him cross over the jetty in the early mornings unaccompanied, and one morning he didn't come back...they kept checking the shelters, never got him back...the shelter people told them, "if he was stolen, you don't want him back...he is either fighting, or is used as a 'bait dog'...a dog they toss to the fighters to brutalize to practice on...he was HUGE and very well muscled...they have another one, also a sweetheart, but keep him under leash, which is the best thing.
unfortunately, since they ARE so prone to being abused and fight trained, i think they should all be spayed, and breeding them be made illegal with big fines, etc, and to let the breed go extinct...i know this is drastic, and pit bull lovers will not be happy, but it's crueler to allow new generations of this breed to be in this position...the kill shelters are full of pit bulls with no future.
