Well, it's official. Aug. 22, 2007, marks BakeSpace's 1st Anniversary -
To help us celebrate, please share with us your favorite first anniversary moments.
Tradition says you're supposed to eat your wedding cake top - was it a disaster? Did you both forget? What made it memorable? What makes year "one" so special? Got a great birthday story? Tell us your favorite story to help us celebrate! |

Congrats Bakespace!
Not only is it Bakespace's Anniversary, but it's my 4-year wedding anniversary today. And, I got a nice little surprise from Bakespace today upon login, my blog is today's Featured Blog. What a fun day! In honor of all this, I'll try to take some time to post a story from my wedding in my blog later today.

Alot of you know my husband Frank and I. When we got married, we took our cake top, threw some aluminum foil around it, put saran wrap around that, and stuck it in a box. Yes, we did remember to freeze it. It sat in our very small freezer for an entire year. When our anniversary came up, we pulled it out expecting it to be completely awful. To our surprise, it was GREAT! Especially since the only cake we ate the day of our wedding was the one we had to feed each other. This cake was so good that we ate the whole thing that night. If you are ever having a wedding in Erie, PA, I highly recommend Mason Farms. DELICIOUS!
Now I had a friend who strangely stuck her cake top in the freezer with nothing around it. They just had the cake sitting there completely in the open. No big surprise to me, the cake was freezer burned. When they finally tried to eat it on their anniversary, the basically had to break it on the counter to get to an edible part. She said when they could finally bite into a piece, it wasn't that bad. OH COME ON! It had to be horrible!!!
Oh well, ours was good and we enjoyed it.
Thanks for letting me share the story. It is nice to go down memory lane once in a while. _________________ Shannon

Dear Bakespace,
Happy Birthday!
Wow, how much you have grown, and look at all the friends you have made!
Love your Topsy Turvy (aka Mad Hatter) birthday cake. Is that a metaphor for your first year? _________________ Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. ~ Red Auerbach |

We are planning a trip to Italy for our 25th. YUM! Italian food. Good recipes from there. _________________ Shannon

Patti- I have to hang my head even lower...I NEVER remember my anniversary, literally, I mean, every year I get the date screwed up. My hubby ALWAYS remembers it! Last year I DID remember and he said, "what did you do get out our marriage certificate", I giggled, it was true! How bad is THAT? |
