Good Morning Bakespace friends!!

Didn't get a chance to get on yesterday. Just another busy Monday at work and then the craziness that follows when you get home. Sounds like everyone had a good day yesterday.

Ann Marie-- Those pictures are beautiful. I'm sure you enjoyed that new camera. Are those all the cookbooks you bought this weekend?? WOW!!

Vicki--Logan looks so cute with his pacifier. Congratulations again!! It's going to be a beautiful day in W MI today, lets enjoy it because we know it's not going to last! Smile

Debbie--Your beef stew sounded good. Did you get all of your chores done yesterday?? How is Avayah??

Joan--Welcome to our group. You'll like it, I get a few chuckles daily by reading other peoples stories/posts.

Eric--Sorry about your Red Sox!!

ToniTNY--Hope you have a good day at work today! Very Happy

Pattit--Never have had empanades, I'm not sure what they are to be honest with you. I'm guessing mexican?? I hope they turn out for you, let us know!!

Tango--Sorry about your cat. Hopefully today's lunch will take your mind off of her/him.

We are going to have beautiful weather today, it's going to be in the mid 80's. Put shorts on the boys for school. Too bad I'm at work!!

Hope you all have a great day!

Jennifer

Good morning Jennifer & All who stop by,

Yep, those are the books I bought at the 2 antique malls. Jim looks at records and I look at cookbooks. Smile We did buy my Mom 2 little ceramic shoes, too cute to pass up. And I bought my sister a heart shaped little covered dish, really pretty.

Jim went back to work last night...said he is so tired. I left him sleep for about 3 hours yesterday, wondering if I shouldn't have left him sleep that long. Now he is paying for it. Sad Guess he needs to get back into his routine again.

This Saturday I am going down to my sister's...having a picnic and 4-wheeler party at her house. A friend of my Mom's LOVES riding 4-wheeler and she found out my nephews, brother-in-law and sister all have 4-wheelers, so she asked Mom to ask the family if we could all get together and go riding. There are so many nice trails in the woods...Mom's friend is soooo excited. Smile

Suppose to be nice today, in the 70's. I'll take it...not ready for cold weather yet.

Better get around here, need to run the sweeper and feed the cat.

{{{Tango}}} so sorry to hear about your kitty.

Hope everyone has a good day! Smile

Hi from Texas this morning! Our day here is beautiful so far but will have to get out and walk my dogs early-it's supposed to be back in the 90's this week!

Eric, don't feel too bad about the Sox, whatever they do. We only have the Texas Rangers! We do go to games sometimes but only when some other team we actually like is in town.

Tango, I'm so sorry about your kitty! I have 3 cats myself and one diet a few months ago. He was 16 and so sweet. I still miss him a lot. Of the 3 that are left, only one is a real "people cat." The other 2 just kind of tolerate us. Still I dragged them all the way to Texas with us from Oregon so they should consider themselves lucky!

Patti, I've always wanted a room of my own-lol. Since I work at home it makes me feel more professional to have my own space, I guess. I can't imagine raising 3 boys! We had 3 girls but they all played softball and basketball and were pretty much tom boys.

Ann Marie, you photos are beautiful! I've been to Virginia but never to West Virginia.

Have a good day, everybody.

Joan

Good morning to all bakespace buddies and all who follow,

Jim had a pretty big scare the other day. Found out someone hacked into Ebay and changed is username, password, address and country. While he was online with Ebay support, the guy was trying to buy computers! To make a long story short, Ebay thought the answer was to just change his password, Jim told them if he hacked into it before, what's to stop him again? Anyway, it took 2 hours to convince Ebay to just freeze his account. Then, to top it off, Jim had been using the same username and password for EVERYTHING! (something I tell him NEVER to do, does he listen?) So he had to call his bank first thing Monday to have them watch his account. Whew, so far, everything looks ok, but whho knows?

Worked on Jess's b-day purse cake all day yesterday, it's almost done. I'll post pics today or tomorrow.

Gotta go and get busy, lots to do. B-day cake, ice the cupcakes for her to take to school tomorrow, and fixing enchilladas for her dinner tonight. Her b-day is tomorrow, but Jim will be at the firehouse so we are celebrating tonight!

Hope everyone has a great day! TTYL

Empanada are sort of like a pastie or meat filled perogie. I love them as they have different spices than a pastie and the ones I had were smaller. The lady who made the ones I ate was from San Salvador. She used some pretty hot chili in hers.

You'd think after so much work I would get more for my labour. Yesterday I blanced my ripe garden tomatoes, plus a basket I had bought, to can spaghetti sauce. Of course I had to be a klutz and slop the boiling water all over my left hand when dumping it. Then too my back is bothering at the best of time and all this canning didn't help. I cooked the sauce in my huge roast pan to avoid the erupting volcano effect on my stove top. And after a whole afternoon and some evening and total exhaustion and burned hand and back ache I got 8 quarts of sauce only. Sure tasted good and smelled even better. I much prefer my sauce to bought stuff.

Today we are supposed to reach 23 C. which works out to about 74 F. I hope this isn't Indian Summer. I want more warm. If you believe the Farmer's Almanac we are supposed to get lots of cold and snow this winter. Winter is not my favourite time of year. Mind there is just about nothing to top the sight of falling large snow flakes on a yet clean cover of snow on the ground. Then the cars come and dirty the snow with exhaust fumes.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Marlene

GOOD MORNING BAKESPACE FRIENDS.....Burrrr it's chilly again, but supposed to get up to 85* today...so that will be nice. Went to bed last nite with aother Migrain and had just taken some Advil for the pain in my foot and so I had to wait to take Migrain meds. for several hours. Got up at 1:30 this moring wide eyed and bushy tail...don't know why. I got on the computer for awhile..nothing going on, so I decided to read awhile and finally I got sleepy. Not going to do a whole lot today..there's lots I wantto do, but I'm just going to give my foot a break. I got most of my chores done yesterday except the Stew...Jim called and said he was working late, so I put the stew off until tonite. I need to call and make Jim and I a hair cut appointment ...we are both looking pretty shaggy. My brother-in-law called yesterday and he's getting a motorcycle ride together for the week-end..guess where he wants to go? Blackwater Falls and Senca Rock....where Ann Marie and Jim went "LAST" week-end. Too bad we all couldn't have got our week-ends together. I told him heck I'd freeze my butt of on the motorcycle! But I'm goinbg to be tough and go....Jim told me last nite...Babe if you don't wanbt to go on this ride we don't have to go and i told him I was looking forward to it..I'l just dress for the weather. We are going to stay overnite...had thought about going down to Cass Railroad for the train ride, but my sisiter thinks that would be too much and she's probably right! Now I just need to find someone like Tiffany to come over a couple times a day and take Kujo out to tinkle. Several of you all have been asking about Avayah and how she is doing. So far so good. Tiffany however has an appointment to take her for some kind of swollening test on Thrusday. Blake when he was little had like an acid reflux...so many this is Avayah problem...he has since out grown it. I'll keep everyone updated. Thanks for asking!

**JENNIFER, I got most of my chores done..except the Fall decorations are still down in the basement. If my foot gets to feeling a bit better...I might go down and get them today! I know how busy a mothers life can be with working and raising a family and tending to the household chores...you run yourself very thin sometimes. I had so much more energy back I those younger years though..I guess it was good thing! I do remember thinking if I just had ONE DAY to rest and do NOTHING! Now here I am with NOTHING to do most ALL DAYS and sometimes bored, but mostly try to keep moving. I guess the old saying is true...Be careful what I wish for!

**ANN MARIE, Did you see from above.....we are headed for Backwater Falls This week-end? Missed you and Jim by a week! Thanks for sharing such beautiful pics. with us! Looks like you pick up some old cookbooks that wil be intersting reads....I also like to seethe old pics. in those kinds of books. Poor Jim, having to go back to work and already being tired!. Sounds like you're going to have a fun week-end planned...... 4-wheeler riding and eating and family, what more could you want? Is 4-wheeler what your Mom and her friend do for fun when they're not on the river?

**JOAN, Your BBQ Brisket from yesterday sounded really Yummy! Did you get your craft room all organized? That wil be nice to have a place to go and relax and bead. I use to tole paint and found it very relaxing..I quit because I had carple tunnel in both hands really bad and my eyes got bad for little detail painting...but I have since fixed those problems and have given thought of getting back into it.

**VICKI, Your meatloaf sounded good from esterday too. I seen on the food channel ast nite on the program called....Drive-Ins, Dives and Diners; where this one guy made a meatloaf and put a homemade Alfredo sauce over before he baked it...Wonder if that would be good?

**ERIC, Sorry the Soxs didn't win their game! Someone has to lose though! Our city just had thier Homecoming a few weeks ago. Your Town Day is probably something similar.

**TONI, Flannel PJ's...I don't even wear Flannel PJ's in the dead of winter...I don't even put flannel sheets on the bed anymore....OH wait a minute I'm 56 and you know.......going through the change...LOL!

**PATTI, Inquiring minds want to know...Just what are "EMPANADA's?" I've never heard of them either...BUT if they are of Mexican quisine , I'm interested in hearing about your recipe. Yes the boys (well at least Cody) are excited about their new beds although they haven't seen them yet. Like I said I stil need to by the mattresses and the bedding too. Tiffany took the baby bed I had here to her house, because they gave Blakes back to the friends they borrowed it from and needed one for her..so Now I need to see about getting Avayah a bed too, but I'm in no hurry about that as I'm not planning on keeping her over-nite for a while...she's way too little for me!

**TANGO, This Quilter Friend that you are meeting for lunch...will this be the first time you both have meant each other? I think that would be so Awesome to be able to meet with your on-line Friends somewhere. Hope you have a nice visit. Sorry to hear about your poor little fur-baby. I know that was a hard decision to make! ((Tango))

**DDPIE, Wow...now that happens all the time but you never think it'll happen to you, do ya? They just has a segment on the Today Show this morning about that and had a guy on ther saying how easy it was to hack into someones password and get to their files. he gave points to things to do not do. Like: 1.)Always change your password every 90 days
2.)Never use the SAME password for eveything
3.)Use upper AND lower case letter along with numbers
You might want to check online Today show and see if I missed anything. Hey your Enchilladas soud very good. Tell your daughter I said Happy B'Day!

**MARLENE, How's your hand today. Did you burn it very bad. That was a lot of work to go therough for 8 qts. of sauce...but like you said, homemade is always better. I agree with you, I thnk we are in for a hard winter. We are past due for one in my area...haven't had much snow for at least 20 years! I remember 20 yrs. ago it would snow and you wouldn't see the ground til spring...now days, if it snows it's light and is melted by the next day or so....not that I'm complainng mind ya.....because I hate the stuff, but it's way past due for a good one.

Well, I guess I've goofed off enough....It's 11 oclock and I'm still in my nite-gown...so I best get busy! Hello to freinds that stop in later and even those that just read. I hope everyone has a Beautiful Fall day! Take care and hugs to all...Debbie

monkeybusiness: When we come down in the Fall, we should find a nice restaurant that you and your Jim, me and my Jim can get together and have lunch. Are you in the middle, north, south, east or west in WV? Hoping you have nicer weather than we did to go see the Falls...they were still nice. And we were the only ones there...who else would walk in the rain to see waterfalls? Smile

Yep, Mom and her friend ride the 4 wheeler all over...especially up in the woods to see the bear den. Her friend is trying to teach her how to drive it, but it is a heavy duty 4 wheeler and Mom is short, hard for her to turn it. Can't wait til we can all get together on Saturday.

Hard to believe Mom is 72...more like 22!! LOL! Smile

Tango – I’m SO sorry to hear about your cat. I know pets are like family members and how hard it is. Wish I had something to say to make you feel better.

Jen – thanks for the compassion on the sox. It got worse last night when the Sox lost and the spanks won again. The lead dwindles…..

Joan – thanks for the Sox perspective. The Rangers are a difficult team to watch but I’ll root for them just because you’re out there.

Deb – yes, most of those celebrations are similar. Pony rides and balloons for the kids to bounce around in, face painting, clowns, burgers and dogs and of course…….THE BUDWEISER TRUCK!

DD - thanks for your PMs. I don't feel quite as freaky anymore, lol!

I just found out I’m going to the Patriots game on Sunday. Going to Rhode Island with my friend, staying at a friend’s and then off to the stadium at 9am on Sunday for lots of tailgating! These guys go all out. They steam lobsters, clams, mussels, grill filet and shrimp and there’s always a huge stockpot of good old NE clam chowda too! If you get the Pats/Bills game, look for me right by the Pats runway near the southern end zone, I’ll still have Red Sox garb on though! (which, actually, many people do)

The cat.. I'm sorry to hear you had to put it down. Boy do I know how bad that can feel. I still cry about Seether and it's been a year. Sad Here's a photo of her...
