Another early day….Start the day with another photo vote…lets see if we can’t get 2nd place by Friday.

Breakfast today is hash and eggs with a side of applesauce….I had some leftover roast beef…grated a potato, added some onion and pepper…good stuff…

I also left you some awesome coffee…Jamaican Blue Mountain…a gift from a friend…

Today is World Ancestor Appreciation Day and September is Bourbon Month.

Have a super day…hope everyone is well … don’t forget to take time to laugh.

Pat

Good Morning Pat and all others who stop in later!!

What a busy week!! At work they are going to be doing some remodeling, so we are all having to move desks. I have my statement run today. So that in itself will keep me busy.

I'm going to have to go back and read the posts from the week and catch up on everything.

Hope you all have a great day!

Jennifer

Good morning Everybody!

I am so excited...I want to thank each and every one of you that have voted for my pictures. I can't believe it, my sunset picture has 399 votes as of 7:55 AM (Eastern). That puts me into 3rd place if I counted right! Smile Many many Thanks, and many many hugs from me to you.

Jim had to go back to work last night. He is hoping by the beginning of October that he will be getting his severance pay, then he can retire. Please say a prayer that it happens soon.

I feel MUCH better today, just a tiny bit in my sinuses but I don't feel so blah today. Smile

Qui - I've heard that Jamaican Blue Mountain is very good coffee, is it? Jim likes "good" coffee, don't know if he would try that kind or not. He is so use to Eight O'Clock coffee, he buys the whole bean then grinds them himself.

Jennifer - hope you are able to get caught up with us soon. This is such a fun, friendly place.

Better get around here, have laundry in the washer and I want to bake some Pumpkin breads. If it is any good, I'll post the recipe later.

Take care & have a GREAT day!

Good morning Pat, Jennifer, Ann Marie and all who stop by later...

Busy day planned for me, Jim and I are shampooing the carpets today. (well, he's shampooing, I'm supervising, lol) I do have to wash blinds too. I want to get all of my fall cleaning done so I can start on my baking Smile
We have beautiful weather coming up for the rest of the week. Temps in the 70's low humidity.

Pat- thanks for breakfast, that hash sounds good, now I'm seriously hungry!

Jennifer- you must be busy, haven't seen you much around the boards lately!

Ann Marie- I voted again today for the sunset pic. Hoping we can give ya a hoist up to first place!!! I'm headed out to check on that moonplant, see if it bloomed out yet. I'd like to get a close up of it.

Thinking of Pattit, hoping she is having a wonderful vacation.

Debbie- can't wait to see your pics also.

Well, I better go get busy before everyone starts posting and I get sidetracked HA! Everyone have a great day and I'll TTYL!

Ding dangit. I just posted a long post about my neighbourhood squirrels and it is not anywhere. Guess I have to tell the story again.

Until about 5 years ago we had the ordinary little run of the mill squirrels and chipmunks. Now we have the big black or grey ones. I get daily entertainment from them as they run along the top of the neighbours fence, jump into their blue spruce and then go from those branches into my pear trees. If we are picking up windfall pears the squirrels chitter at us as if we are stealing "their" food. Then they with pear in mouth repeat the leaps and run back into wherever in the neighbours yard.

I also asked a question. How many of you cook a lunch? I occasionally eat mac and cheese or heat up soup whether it is homemade or canned or buy a burger and fries but as a rule it is a sandwich. Every once in a while I will scramble, poach or fry eggs or make porridge.

Okay I think that was what I had previously tried to post.

Have a good day everyone.

Marlene

GOOD AFTERNOON BAKESPACE FRIENDS......Just got the chance to stop in quickly to say hello and let everyone know I was thinking of them! Jim and I are getting ready to go out for lunch and go to the movie to see "3:10 to Yuma" Since I pick the movie the other day, I thought I'd let him chopse today. I wanted to see Good Luck Chuck, but Tiffany and Mat went to see it and she said it was close to a prom movie. It going to rain here all day so we figures the movie was a good thing to do. Tomorrow we are getting together with some friends and going motorcycle riding to check out some old covered bridges and eat at this little diner Jim and I know about...pretty good food! The weather is supposed to be in the mid 70's no rain...so it'll be a good day!

**Pat Q, Breakfast sounded good,as usually i'm always to late to eat. About the laughter...I always try to laugh...it's god for the soul! Very Happy

**Ann Marie, Congratulations on making it to 3 rd place so far..We'll keep voting and see if we can't get you at least to firat palce! Keeping my fingers crossed for Jim to get his severance pay soon....You both will be traveling people then...won't you? Your Pumpkni Bread sounds to die for.

**DDpie, I need to shampoo my carpets too (well Jim does) I'm not paying any more money to those carpet cleaning people...they don't do as good as job as we can and I'll save myself 150 dollars! I'll try and post some pictures either today or Saturday....but soon. I'm not home long enought o mess with it right now.

**Marlene, I love to watch squirells play. Where we use to live we had about 15 trees on our property and and abundance of squirells and chipmunks and lots of different kinds of birds. I so enjoyed watching them all and feed them all too! Now we have one tree and an occasionally squirell and very few birds! You ask if we cook lunch...not very often but when I do it's usually either a grilled Ham and cheese sandwich or a chicken Quesadillas (sp)

Wel, I had better go and finish getting ready to go out with my sweetie! Hope everyone has a good day and Hugs to all.....Debbie

Ann Marie, Jamaican Blue Mountain is very good coffee. It is very smooth, not bitter at all and has a full coffee flavor. -- First place for the photo contest is within your reach… we’ll all keep voting to help make it happen.

Marlene, the gnocchi recipe sounds too good to be true…are they really as easy as they sound?…I must try them. -- I remember my first trip to Canada…I saw my first black squirrels…I sat and watched for hours - I had only ever seen greys…
And lunch… I sometimes fix grits with poached eggs….when you add the grits to the boiling water, add 1 T butter, stir, add 2 eggs, gently….cover and leave 5-6 minutes. Slide into a shallow bowl, add salt and pepper and enjoy.

Pat-I tried to be as descriptive as I could be on texture and such. I mean if you have no mashed potatoes and have to peel potatoes how often would you get exactly 2 or 3 or whatever pounds so that you can say just how much flour to use. A lot of Italian cookbooks call for egg in the dough but I find the egg makes the dough more doughy and heavier. With mine if I didn't scoop them out of the water as soon as they rise to the top they would come apart. I make a bowl full in less than a half hour. I have brought left overs to the bowling alley to prove they are heavy lumps. They are a nice change from plain potatoes or rice or pasta.

The description is perfect...I just always thought they were much too difficult to make... Hopefully, I can prove myself wrong with the help of your recipe.... Thank You.
