Ok, so heres the beginning of the Christmas rush for me. For the past 2 weeks weve been trying to find the Nintendo Wii system and no one has them. I just got off the phone with WalMart and they just got a shipment in. They took my name to hold one. The catch is, if I dont pick it up by 4pm, it goes with the rest of them. The lady said she expects all the rest to sell out in an hour.

So, Im leaving here at 1pm, walk down to the PATH train, cross under the Hudson to Jersey, and catch a 1:49pm train which will get me to Hillsdale by 2:50 or so and then drive the 20 minutes to the Mart. OY VEY!!!

Deb I did the whole train/subway/path/bus commuting thing from 1993 to 2005 so Im pretty used to it. Its really not that bad. On the quitting smoking, Im confident because Id quit for 5.5 years but then 9/11 happened and I saw too much and have been back on since. I did it easily the first time and hopefully this time will go as smoothly and be permanent.

Marlene ROCK OUT THAT EXAM GIRL!!!

Ann Marie Im feeling much better today, thanks!

I wont be back on here til tonight as Im rushing out the door.

PEACE EVERYONE!!!

Eric.. I've been thinking about that Wii too.. We couldn't find it either. Here's my theory.. they have a whole bunch of them ready in a warehouse for Christmas. They are making them appear to be scarce so people feel the need to get them when they can - this leaves the price at $300! AARRG! It's just a game (a cool one), but nonetheless a plastic game. I should have gotten into game design... I'd be making a bundle!

I hope you get it in time. I'm looking for one too. HHAHHH So I guess I could say... I hope WII get it. HAHAHH

My newest news - - Mom told me that my brother's wife "might" come with him tomorrow. They are going to be getting a divorce; and one night they fought his wife called his family all kinds of names. And we are to make her welcome at our table????? I'm trying to be like my sister, "it's a holiday."

I've never liked her...she used him. And I think that is beginning to dawn on him. Sad

Wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! My stepdaughter and family are staying with us and we're busy baking and getting out the nice dishes.

Had to go get a bad of dog food at Petco, which is near the mall and it's already overloaded with tons of traffic!

Anyone going shopping the day after Thanksgiving? I think our kids are going but I'm going to sleep in and stay home. It's supposed to get down in the 30's tonight here in TX, after being in the 70's and 80's all fall, so quite a change.

Have a great turkey day!

Joan

Thanks! Smile As for the mall.. I am staying away. I might go to the beach on Friday and chill. Nothing says holidays like piped in Christmas music and a line with annoyed customers. Don't ya think? I would rather pull my eyes out then fight the traffic, battle the lines and feel rushed. I like buying stuff online. It's easy and the UPS guy is cute.

Babs--Our UPS driver is cute as well, however he got caught with the neighbor lady!!! Needless to say her husband left her.

Babette - great Thanksgiving newsletter. Smile Thank you!

Joan - not going to the stores on Friday...worked at a Dollar General for 7 years and I had enough of the rush-rush and the crowds, guess I got burned out.

Hope everyone is done baking and getting rested for the big day tomorrow! Smile

Have a great night!
Ann

Hello everyone! I'm in PA now (with most everyone else here on bakespace!) Wink . Did you see me waving as I drove by y'all? The trip only took 6 hours - we were very lucky that we left as early as we did (6AM). Vicki - I did finish my pumpkin rolls - 4 in all. I gave one to a former neighbor/friend of ours and brought the other 2 1/2 with me (only 2 and 1/2 b/c the girls were nibbling on them last evening). I'm very tired now though but wanted to see how all my friends Very Happy were spending the day before Thanksgiving. Sounds like a lot of preparation going on! I will be one of the fools shopping at 5AM on Friday. What can I say, I'm a sadist I guess! Well, everyone have a good night and I'll check in with everyone tomorrow or Friday to see if you, like me, will be barely able to roll themselves away from the dining room to hop on the pc's. I know I'm planning on wearing my eating pants tomorrow! Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Getting read to go to bed, got to get up early and get the bird in the oven. I read everyone's post, hope I can reply to all that have been here today.
**Jennifer, hope your day at work flew by. I got my pumpkin pies baked today also. Hope you find lots of bargains on Friday.
**Vicki, I hope your husband and son aren't in too much pain for the holidays. That Blessing Mix is such a cute idea.
**Tango, Oh no, did I miss the pumpkin bread. I wish I could have taken the time this morning to enjoy some coffee and some of the pumpkin bread.
**Eric, looking forward to your Thanksgiving pictures. I hope you and Carter are able to spend a special day together real soon. Your job sounds like it is going better than good, it sounds like it is turning out to be fantastic for you. I am glad.
**DD, I haven't watched Bachelor all season, but since they said it had a shocking ending, of course I had to tune it. I couldn't believe when he picked neither one!! I hate the whole concept of the show. With temperatures in the high 60s today, this menopausal woman was VERY hot in the kitchen today. Tomorrow I will be wearing my traditional t-shirt, because it will be even hotter in the kitchen.
**Debbie, I love grilled cheese and tomato soup. I hope you don't lose your connection, you know how much we miss you when you can't post.
**Marlene, I hope you did good on your exam. I bet it will be good to have your daughter home again. I hope she got lots of good pictures.
**Ann Marie, I thought my husband had the worst schedule, but at least he knows he has off for Thanksgiving. He is always on call, so we never know when he is working, like you said, so hard to make plans. I hope it is not too uncomfortable with your SIL tomorrow.
**Joan, how nice it is to have someone to help with the baking and getting ready. Makes it so much more fun.
**Joy, it is odd to think how close you were when you were traveling up 15. Enjoy your visit to PA. Good luck to you with the sales on Friday.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!
