ooooh that really iritates me when total strangers judge and pass coment! people seem to think they have some divine right to judge people with kids because they also have kids!!!
i remember when i was babysitting my best friends baby Jacob, he was only 6-8 months old, i was sitting in a coffee shop and he was drinking some juice from a sippy cup that his mum had packed for me to give him ( i had him for an hour while she got her hair cut) and some woman sat near me came over and said that a baby so young shouldnt be drinking juice, they should only have milk! i of course not being a parent then felt totally useless and took his juice of him which made him scream the place down so i had to leave!!! _________________ Nelly xx

Nelly, my friend's sister actually got beat up when she was in HS. She was a cashier and this woman slapped her kid really hard in front of her. She just stood their in shock and the woman started in with her. She came back for her and the end of the night and beat her up.
Now that's insane!!! _________________ MICHELE

Those are some crazy stories!!! I wish I could share with you all the bizarre, and sometimes rude, things people have said to me since having children but I'm afraid that would take me all night One of my favorites was the woman in the grocery store who stopped to look at my twins and then said (not in a joking tone) "You must like that one more" (she was pointing at my son) "because you feed him more." Umm?!?!?! He was a pound bigger at birth and was probably 3 or 4 pounds bigger at that point. But to say that, just about put me over the edge. _________________ -Catherine

you have to wonder if she was just being ignorant to how that may sound to the mom or was she just plain mean. _________________

I'm pretty sure she was being judgemental. She didn't start with "cute babies" or "how nice" or anything like that. She just kind of got in their faces and when I thought maybe she was about to say something nice, then she came out with that comment. And told me I should try feeding Natalie some more.
Apparently having twins opens you up to a host of bizarre comments. Some are amazingly nice (I've had people tell me I must be special since G-d gave me twins - I'm not sure I believe that since I had science on my side - but it's still a nice gesture) and some are downright crazy (like the people who ask me if my boy/girl twins are identical ) _________________ -Catherine

You would not believe the sheer number of people who have asked me if Lizzie and Maggie are twins. They're only a year apart but Maggie is about 6 inches taller. One has strawberry blond hair and blue eyes, the other has dirty blond hair and brown eyes - they look NOTHING like twins. I always am speechless when I'm asked that - maybe I'm just not seeing what they're seeing. I also have some stories of people who were downright rude when I was nursing. It's not like I was whipping it out in the middle of a restaurant, it was always (I thought) discreet - blanket drapped, in a corner, but I would have old men and old women walk up to me and yell at me for it. Like I was supposed to hide in a bathroom stall or something. I told most of them to f**k off. I must have seemed like such a Madonna - serenely nursing my baby and swearing like a sailor. _________________ -Joy
