If you have a standing mixer, peeling garlic can be very easy.
Just drop the unpeeled cloves into the bowl of an standing mixer fitted with a paddle attachment. Turn the mixer on to the lowest speed possible, and watch the machine do all the work for you! |

If you are tired of paper towels or wax paper getting down into the food that you are reheating or cooking in the microwave try using paper plates to cover.
I buy a large package of just the thinnest and the cheapest ones I can find. Think there are about 150 in a pkg. Not only are they good for that but also for many other kitchen uses. I would be lost without my handy stack. |

| That's a great idea grandmacookn. I will have to remember that. I can see where that would be much easier than a paper towel. Thanks for sharing. |

There's a new product to cover your food in the microwave(MW). It looks like a (round)piece of tulle with little plastic pieces stuck to the edges.
The plastic is light weight bu heavy enough to keep the edges down over the dish/bowl in the MW. When it get sdirty you just rinse it under hot water or wash in a small bit of dish detergent.
I used to use the paper plate thing but since buying this I don't need to anymore.
Garlic can be peeled very easily by simply placing the flat side of a knife blade on the clove and hit down on it. The skins comes right off. No need to dirty a mixer bowl.
There is quite a thread, actually 3 threads, on recpezaar.com thatdeals with gadgets. We even have a gadget swap going on.
I recently also purchased a very small "mandoline" especially for slicing garlic and other small items. It will shred or slice them. I can use it for nuts, garlic, ginger, etc..
