Heya Sophie! I, as a matter of fact, live in the Boston area. Have you moved here yet? Where abouts are you living? What kind of food do you like? When I was a teenager I spent pretty much all my time in Harvard Square, so if you are around there I can totally give you some restaurant ideas.

Yep, I live right by Harvard Square! I like all kinds of food, but I just started a gluten free diet so I have to be careful what I eat ...any restaurant/dining recommendations would be much appreciated!

Hmm, gluten-free huh? Is it by choice or are you allergic? I have a friend who is allergic to wheat/dairy/poultry/seafood and she basically cant go out anymore, it's a real bummer.

There is a place called Charlies Kitchen which does good, basic American style stuff, not even vaguely fancy. The Hong Kong used to be pretty good, but I have heard grumbles about it lately. Mr. Bartleys has the best burgers, but if you are gluten free you probably can't have them. Well, everything Bartleys does is awesome, so I'm sure you can find something there you can eat. If you go down mass ave a ways away from Boston (towards Arlington, on the 77 bus route) there is a little place called the Greek Corner which has good stuff. I have heard Cafe of India is good, but I don't care for Indian food, so I wouldn't know from personal experience. Grendels is really good too, and they have a patio which is cool at this time of year. Cafe A is a decent, inexpensive pizza shop in the Garage. I used to eat there all the time when I was a kid.

Unfortunately I haven't hung in the Square since I was a teenager (longer ago than I care to think about.. ) and a lot of the places I used to go to are gone. The Tasty was great, a real old-school tiny dive diner. Elsies made hands down the greatest sandwiches in the world. Plus Elsie herself was the sweetest little old Jewish grandmother type. But, I found this website that might help you out: http://www.harvardsquare.com/restaurants.aspx It seems to have lots of restaurants, although I didn't see Cafe A listed which makes me wonder if it still exists.
