My cats hate having eye boogers wiped away... I can't imagine trying to get contact lenses into their eyes! _________________ ~Marguerite

I know this is a very old post, but I was just wandering around and noticed it, so it gave me a chuckle remembering one of my first jobs. I was working for a patent law firm in Boston, and one of the first patent applications I worked on was for red contact lenses for chickens!!
Apparently, if a chicken sees blood, it will peck at it, so whenever there was a chicken injury, the whole pen would turn into a blood bath. They discovered that if you put red lenses in the chickens' eyes, they won't see the blood to peck at it. A few years after that, I remember seeing a magazine article about using them for horses, but I can't remember what for.
You think it would be tough trying to put a lense in a cat's eye? Try putting them in for chickens! Wonder what that job pays. LOL! _________________ ~ Chris
