OK, this first of 4 for me... I went a little nuts while at BevMo.... I tried to spread my Riesling around the globe...

First Up......
Name:Pacific Rim
Price: $9.99 - California - Near Santa Cruz
Year: No Vintage Year, Which disturbs me a little... I assume this means it's a young drinking wine

Short intro from the wine maker about the wine:
At Pacific Rim Wine makers, we're obsessed with Riesling... In all it's wondrous forms.
Our dry Riesling is crisp yet lush with fine acidity and flavors of lime and apricot. The perfect food wine, Pacific Rim Riesling harmoniously complements all manner of Charcuterie, as well as vibrant, Umami-Intensive Asian and Fusion Fare..
Review:This is my type of Riesling... I find most of them way too sweet. This was deliciously dry without being overly acidic.
The Color - Light Buttery Yellow... Like creamed butter when making cookies
The Bouquet - With a swirl and a sniff, I am greeted by Makrut lime and apple peels combined with a lush passionflower and a hint of unpeeled ginger root, but it's very faint...
The Palate - I do not taste the apricot that the bottle describes, however I do taste lively tart green apple and a flash of pear then moving into a star fruit laced with light spices, leaving a somewhat drying sensation on the taste buds that almost comes across as slate, but not really strong enough to be considered a flavor, more of an impression... The acidity is bright and lively...
Would you buy again?: Most definitely...
Wine Pairing Ideas/Recipes:
I served this wine with oeufs cocotte and it brought out the spices, which I liked, but it dulled the brightness of the acidity. It did not pair with the asparagus but the Parmegiano-Reggiano bits played well. Candy canes? Not so great... Neither is coffee nor an actual green apple... This would go really well with Kung Pao Chicken or General Tso Chicken.... Red Curry or Pad Thai.... Yes, Definitely Pad Thai... mmmmm Now I am hungry again... Laughing

HOLY COW.. I was going through the reviews and discovered my same bottle so I thought I better get my review up. Shane .. .I hope you don't mind I hijacked your review...

irst Up......
Name:Pacific Rim
Price: $9.99 - California - Near Santa Cruz
Year: Shane said there was no vintage year which I didn't even notice.. bottle is long gone so I'll take his word for it.

Review:I sampled this bottle with two other girfriends and we agreed with Shane.. the brand was not as sweet as we thought it would be which was a great surprise. I was thinking I was about to have dessert so I actually braced myself for the major sweetage. We had no problem finishing the bottle.
The Color - Light Buttery Yellow... agreed... bright and cheerful
The Bouquet - forgot.. oops!
The Palate - oops... servers me right for waiting so long.
Would you buy again?: Most definitely...
Wine Pairing Ideas/Recipes:
Ah... no clue. We had it solo.. it was pretty good. I would buy again and thought the bottle was fantastic in presentation. It was a screwcap which was weird, but with the bottle so pretty I forgave them.
