I know this weekend I will be baking gingerbread cookies (and decorating them too, with the icing and all).

I was thinking about also making some spritz cookies as well as I hardly ever use that spritz making tool thats up in my cupboard above the fridge (I think it's still there, haven't seen it in a while). Confused

I did a BakeSpace search and could not find a recipe though..I found a basic one on a cookbook but it's not very holidayish. I used to have a recipe for a lemon one that had powdered sugar and lemonade mix on it that came from good housekeeping but I have since lost it somewhere...

Does anyone have a spritz recipe that is holidayish...like wreaths or trees or something? I guess I can just use the basic recipe and dye it green...for trees and wreaths and then add red hots and such...but I'm not that creative to think of anything else! Crying or Very sad

Kathy - I don't have any recipes like you've described, but I was reading my Martha Stewart magazine yesterday and saw an orange spritz cookie recipe. Would you like that? Let me know and I'll post it.

I went ahead and made the basic recipe...just butter, sugar vanilla and almond extract. Everyone here at work seems to love them. Dyed the dough green. Made wreaths and trees. Used colored Sprinkles and rolled out red gumdrops to make bows on the wreaths...

Orange does sound interesting...you should post for future reference!!
