Morning Holly and all to follow,
Vicki- The coffee cake recipe sounds yummy. I copied it and once Christmas is over going to make it and bring it in to work. Thanks.
Holly- Praying for John.Hope he will be home soon .
Debbie- so sorry you have a cold. Feel better soon.
Anita- What kind of cookies did you bake?
Kelo-Hope you had a nice day
Bakerfreek-Thanks for the email
Suzanne-Have fun with your daughter. Our son is back to work and will be out in the gulf for another unknown period of time.My one consequences is that he loves his work.
Patti- Did you finish you wrapping? Have you ever make the chocolate chip cookies with vanilla pudding in them? They are really good!
Sheryle- yes it is the nicest feeling to be able to stay in bed and not have to worry about getting up! When we were away I had to wake up early to take my meds a certain time before breakfast so I could get something in my tummy before I went out on the boat. Now that I have a few days off also I have my comfortable flannel sheets on and it's so nice !
My ear is better, thank you for all your prayers.
Have a wonderful day all!
BTW: Did anyone see we have Santa on the board? I'm one of his kitchen helpers-hope Mrs. Santa will share lots of recipes

Good Morning, Holly and all to follow!!
I have found some of the sources of the cookbooks from Freecycle. Whoever originally had some of the books may have picked them up at library sales, as they cooking fads come and go. What I will need to do is type out a list.
I saw a Praline Crunch recipe on TOHBB that brought back memories. My husband will pick up corn flakes when he drops our son off at school.
PRALINE CRUNCH
1 stick butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cups chopped pecans
2-1/2 cups cornflakes
Melt butter and sugar. Boil and immediately remove from heat. Add pecans and cornflakes and toss to coat.
Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in an airtight container.
Have a nice day.
Vicki

Good Morning, Linda!
Are you thinking of the Cranberry Almond Coffee Cake? If so, you may want a couple Tablespoons to 1/4 cup added sugar. We like the tartness of cranberries, but the recipe had a little more punch than expected.
Hugs,
Vicki

GOOD MORNING HOLLY, LINDAL, VICKI, LINDAW and ALL who stop by.....It's 10:30 a.m. and believe or not I'm still in my nitegown. I feel like poop and really wish I could shake this cold so I could go see my MOm. I called her last nite , but she couldn't hear a thing I said. I called her room this morning, but I didn't get an answer. So I called the nurses station and they said my dad had just left and was going to call all the kids. The ARBORS has a room waitng for her and it'll be sometime this afternoon before thet transferr her there. I heard from one of my sisters, that it was a private room..so that will be good, maybe then we can put out a little Christmas tree and spend Christmas day with her.
*****HOLLY, I hope you and John have a good day too...is he feeling any better. I will be sending prayers up for the both of you. Love the little reindeer and bird graphic.
*****LINDA L, So glad that your ear is getting better. I didn't see Santa...where was he? I want to be one of his kitchen helpers too Let us know if Mrs. Claus has any good recipes.
*****VICKI, That Parline Crunch sounds really good...thanks for sharing the recipe. How's your eye today? Hopefully doing good.
*****LINDA W, So sorry to hear your not able to keep anything down....maybe you have the ole stomach virus that's going around...about 1/2 of my family has had it, probably got it over at the hospital. Hope you'll be feeling better soon. I'll bet you're feeling tired and drained because of the major surgery you just had. You know that takes a lot out of you. Hope your re-hab continues to make your hip limber and closer to normal as the days go on. Here a big ole hug for you and a prayer along with it (((LINDA))). You take care of yourself!!
Well..I've got to get busy...DD will be here in a little bit and we need to go to town to exchange a few things. Tomorrow or Friday will be grocery shopping day and Saturday and Sunday will be cooking days. Busy, busy! I hope you all have a good day and get things done you want to get done. Hello to anyone that stopped in while I was typing . Take care...Debbie _________________ Debbie
