Ok... for a split second I was thinking that I would do a fondue party this month. Then I reminded myself about my Valentine's theme. Then I reminded myself that the kids would want to fondue too... and that's just WAY too many people... wait... I just solved my own problem... back to Valentine's theme.... Fondue Party will be with just Drew & Ericka a different night and if we happen to have wine... that's fine... but I'm thinking more hurricanes... although last time I did hurricanes + fondue party that ='d pouring hot fondue oil over my hand.... I have rethink that... thanks for letting me type out loud....
Wine tasting still = Valentine's Party
Fondue = maybe the following weekend... alcohol TBD _________________ ~Marguerite

Yeah... I made Jon make me another hurricane... I spent the rest of the night doing everything one handed with my left hand in a bowl of ice water... I wouldn't let them take me to the hospital near the beginning of my party, so they kept refreshing the ice in my bowl! _________________ ~Marguerite

No... it WAS funny (I think because of the hurricanes) When I use oil, I like to preheat it on the stove... so it was good and hot... I was pouring into my cast iron fondue pot, which is the smallest... I wanted to be sure that I didn't pour it over the edge.... the pan didn't have a pour edge thing... so some was pouring into the pot... while some more was running down the outside of the pot and streaming off the bottom onto my hand!
We'll still have hurricanes... I have Jon pour the oil.... or actually I have a broth I really want to try! _________________ ~Marguerite

Maybe it's the 3 glasses of wine I had tonight, but my first thought was also head not hand.................geez..............Spryte, I love to fondue and have several recipes if you need them, also I have multiple fondue pots if you need them too, electric and sterno.
I'm not in the wine club but I saw what you were going to be drinking and there was something in tonight's paper that caught my eye. I had never heard of Muscat wine before seeing it here.
He suggests pairing an Extra Dark Chocolate with N.V. Dutschke The Muscat. Australia. _________________ Karen

I would LOVE your recipes!!!
I used to have fondue parties often! I have a couple fondue pots... plus I use my mini crock pots...
I usually do cheese, oil & broth and chocolates
They are soooooooooo fun!!!
I know I'm saying I'll do it the weekend after VD... however, being the procrastinator that I am... and having significantly less disposable income... it's likely to be later than that!
I have a copy-cat recipe for the mojo fondue from Melting Pot that I'm dying to try... probably with some shellfish or chicken... _________________ ~Marguerite
