Spryte: I'm wicked jealous of your tasting parties. I don't know enough people who drink wine to do that.
I've been having the hardest time finding this wine for some reason. I think I need to grab my brother and see if he can help me find one. Hmm, maybe he would want to taste it with me too... _________________ Cooking Stuff

Finally caught the wine guy at my local store and he pointed me towards their whole two bottles of muscat. Heh. I got the one that wasn't 25 dollars.
Name:Red Electra
Price:11.99
Year: 2006
I'm probably going to take a better picture of the bottle, you know without the harsh artificial lighting.
Short intro from the wine maker about the wine: Red Electra is easy (only 5% alcohol). It's a party wine with a zippy taste. Like a handful of freshly picked summer berries, it is sweet, succulent, luscious and lively. Red Electra is fun.
Review: Despite the fact that the makers intro sounds like it was translated into English from Japanese, it's one of the most accurate intros I've come across. It smells like lavender and fruit and tastes like strawberries and honey. Where was this wine when I was a teenager? It's almost like a wine cooler, but better. Very sweet, but not as cloying as the Riesling I had. It's got that weird slightly fizzy thing that I'm not sure if I like or not. My girlfriend actually liked it, mostly because it's practically soda.
Would you buy again?: Probably.
Wine Pairing Ideas/Recipes: Dessert. Things with berries like shortcakes or tarts. Anything with a strong vanilla taste would go well, like yellow cake or rice pudding. It went well with Dove milk chocolate, but wasn't spectacular. _________________ Cooking Stuff

Name: Bartenura Moscato
Price: $15 or $16?
Year: 2007
Short intro from the wine maker about the wine: the production of Bartenura Moscato has been directed to yield a wine that preserves the wonderful rich aroma of the Moscato grape. The finest Moscato grapes have been carefully selected to create a light slightly effervescent wine, with fresh peachy highlights.
Review: Well, it was definitely effervescent. and really sweet! It was a dessert all on its own. My first thought when I tasted it was ...omg...it tastes just like white grape juice with a fizz!! it wasn't until the last glass that I actually tasted something other than grapes. Oddly I tasted a strawberry / pear combo. I wonder if I had read the wine makers intro first, if I would've realized it was probably peach instead.
Would you buy again?: I don't know...It was just too sweet. Almost syrupy.
Wine Pairing Ideas/Recipes: I couldn't drink this with much of anything. Cheese didn't add anything, and dessert was out of the question. I wish I had paid more attention to what I had taken a bite of when I finally tasted what I thought was strawberries and pears. _________________ Danielle

Name: Terra d'oro Moscato
Price: crap...I don't remember....$13?
Year: 2007
Short intro from the wine maker about the wine: Oh...well, I guess pretty bottles dont require an intro? There's only the Government Warning. maybe that says it all right there
Review: Its not as effervescent as the Bertenura was, and not nearly as syrupy sweet. I still only taste a very strong white grape juice flavor. Its very refreshing. I could really enjoy a bottle of this on a hot summer evening as the sun goes down (preferably in Hawaii!!). I find that when I first poor a chilled glass, it's sweet...as it warms and I get close to the bottom of the glass it lightens up a bit and becomes more...winey? (nooooo...it's not complaining!!)
Would you buy again?: I probably will if I can remember it in 4 months!
Wine Pairing Ideas/Recipes: I haven't even tried paring it with anything. Some wines almost demand it....this wine...mmm i think it would be too much. _________________ Danielle
