This was extremely intimating for me! I'm still very new at anything having to do with wine. I decided to switch back to red after a couple months of white.

So far I think I like semi-dry... not too sweet... ummm... and I'm hoping this is good! (or at least that it mixes well with 7-Up!!)

Pinot Noir (pronounced Pee-noh-n'wahr) from About.com

Pinot Noir may be the toughest grape to grow, but the effort is well worth the investment. It is a fickle grape that demands optimum growing conditions, calling for warm days consistently supported by cool evenings. Pinot Noir is a lighter colored and flavored red wine, well-suited to pair with poultry, ham, lamb and pork. Its flavors are reminiscent of sweet red berries, plums, tomatoes, cherries and at times a notable earthy or wood-like flavor, depending on specific growing conditions.

Pinot Noir’s forerunner and modest inspiration hails from red Burgundy, one of France’s most prized wines. Today, Pinot Noir is planted in regions around the world including: Oregon, California , New Zealand, Australia, Germany and Italy.

OMG... where did feb go? I still have to do last month's wine tasting. AAAARRRRGGG! I have to confess, I did enjoy a bottle of some sparkling white wine that I didn't think I would like, but the bubbles were awesome. This has been a crazy 28 days ... I will be back to normal in a few days. Tomorrow we're starting a 4 day baking week in our newsletter.. so watch out for that. Anyhow, I will participate in this month's tasting.. promise! Smile Who won last month's so I can send a penguin opener? Also, did you guys start to get your gifts in the mail? Oh wait.. is Spryte the winner?? HAHAHAAH I'm officially losing my mind.

Congrats Spryte! You totally deserve it with the awesome pine parties you throw! Smile

I don't think I've ever had a Pinot Noir. Shocked I wonder why! Oooh...way back when....when I didn't know that I like red wine, I stayed away from it. Duh! LOL

Hey everyone ,

Hello people . Spryte , this is an excellent choice . I just finished a bottle of Pinot from Monterey . It rocked Smile The aroma , the plummy taste ... good stuff . It was really great with a Junior's Cheesecake and some homemade raspberry / blackberry sauce . OWWWW Cool

Are you growing your own grapes ? Did I read that right ? I love to grow stuff and have been gardening my whole life .

Am I growing my own grapes? No... I can only have a container garden since I lived IN city and am surrounded by concrete. I mostly grow hot peppers, herbs, tomatoes and flowers. =)
