Good morning ,
I'm up early so I thought I'd come on here before the girls get up and I get busy.
Weather is suppose t be in the70's today. Most of my day will probably be spent outside.Kaitlyn already told me last night that she wants to play outside today.Maybe I'll work on getting my flower pots ready to plant.
I'm trying to figure out what I'll cook for Sunday dinner. It seems to get more difficult each week to come up with something different.I'm running out of ideas.
Going now to get my breakfast.Try to post later if I can.
Everyone have a wonderful day.

Pat

Good Morning, Pat! You sure are up early. It's raining here right now. I have to make some food to take over to a friend's house this afternoon. She is giving her dad a surprise 70th birthday party!

Not much else is going on here today, though. I hope everyone has a great day and a wonderful weekend.

Hello to everyone who stops by later.

Hugs, Kenna Lou

Good morning Pat and Kenna Lou and all who follow. I just woke up a few minutes ago and will soon have to get some breakfast and head out for the day. I am going to my nieces Tastefully Simple party this afternoon and have to run some errands before then.

Pat - those pictures you posted yesterday were great...a lot of talented students at your granddaughter's school. How did the trip to the zoo go?

Kenna Lou - it's raining here today too and supposed to rain tomorrow..what an ugly weekend! Did you get caught up on your laundry?

I need to get my lazy self up and get busy. Have a nice day!

Good Afternoon, Pat, Kenna Lou, Sheryle, Linda and all to follow!

Yesterday, I made my Five Cup Salad recipe (adding maraschino cherries for my husband). This morning, I made my Aloha Quick Bread. Mmmmm! All that fruit.

This morning, we went to Penzey's, too. I needed more lemon peel, orange peel, ham base, and celery flakes. Have any of you tried their celery flakes? They are a fantastic emergency substitution for regular celery, as well as quick addition for loads of recipes. I purchased my first little bag of whole nutmeg, after hearing all the raves of fresh grated nutmeg.

We are enjoying the mild, springlike weather. Next weekend, we are in for a big change.... temperatures dropping into the 30's and 40's. Yikes!!

Have a nice weekend.
Hugs,

Vicki

Good evening everyone. I just got home a few minutes ago and I'm exhausted! I went to WalMart early this afternoon and went to the fabric department to look for Easter fabric. I found several that I liked and their prices were great, the only problem was, I couldn't find anyone to wait on me. Evil or Very Mad I stood a the counter for a while, I walked through the department several times and still no one appeared so needless to say I was annoyed and just left the material on the counter. No wonder they are not doing much business in that department and are closing them in many stores...they would do more business if they had a salesperson there! I then went to Hobby Lobby and Joannes fabric and couldn't find anything I liked so may try WalMart one more time.

My niece had her Tastefully Simple party this afternoon and I had a great time. I bought entirely too much stuff...I think I bought almost everthing I tasted. I bought two beer breads and got one free for ordering 8 items or more, then ordered several of their dip mixes, cheeseball mixes, almond pound cake mix and graham crackers that looked like pretzels. I think that's about it. They have a delicious Key Lime cheeseball mix!

After the party I sat and visited with my sister, nieces and a family friend and then picked up groceries and came back home. We ended up having a very pretty day, didn't rain all day like the forecast had predicted.

Linda - I hope the wedding is nice. From what you told us the other day, things could get very interesting.

Vicki - I've never ordered from Penzey's, I get the catalog once in a while and have gone to the web site and thought of ordering, but never did. Is the Penzey's you go to nearby? I would love to go to one some day. You'll love freshly ground nutmeg...that's all I use anymore. The fragrance is wonderful! I haven't bought ground in years.

I guess I had better stop and get something to eat, I'm not hungry but have to take food with my meds. I hope you all had a wonderful day and have a restful night.

Sheryle

Sheryle,

It is sad about your experience in Walmart's fabric department. Are they closing the fabric department in all the stores?

Penzey's is approximately 10 miles from our home. Some spices are very intense. For example, Penzey's recommends using 1/3 the amount of dried orange or lemon peel as a replacement for fresh orange or lemon peel. As soon as I opened the jar, I could smell the difference. If you would order by mail, Penzey's frequently adds a "surprise" spice, which you do not get in the stores (an extra bottle which you did not order). I just checked their website. The only Penzey's in Ohio is in Columbus.

Sleep well. Sounds like you had a wonderful day.
Vicki
