June 23, 2011
9:00 AM (I know it’s early but this place gets really busy later in the day)
We also plan to get together for lunch or dinner later in the day but we’ll plan that a little closer to the time of the meet-up.
Jungle Jim’s International Market
5440 Dixie Highway (Route 4)
Fairfield, Ohio 45014 – this is in the Cincinnati area
After mentioning Jungle Jim’s in many of my posts (in the Breakfast Club and on my blog) over the years, I’ve decided to plan an outing there for all of my BakeSpace friends. Since Jungle Jim’s is located in the Cincinnati, Ohio area and there aren’t many, if any, BakeSpace members who live nearby, I realize it will require at least one or two overnight stays, I decided to plan it early. This way anyone who is interested in coming should have plenty of time to schedule vacation and make housing arrangements. If you want to work it into a longer vacation, there are many things to do in the Cincinnati area….Kings Island Amusement Park, the Cincinnati Zoo (the zoo babies may be around during that time), Cincinnati Reds baseball, Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal, Newport Aquarium (in Kentucky, just on the other side of the Ohio river), etc.
Some of you may have seen Jungle Jim’s when it was on the History Channel back in October (they didn’t do it justice) but for those of you who have never heard of Jungle Jim’s it is a locally owned 6 ½ acre international market that began in the 70’s as a roadside produce stand. It has one of the largest wine selections in the US along with 1 1/2 acres of produce; live fish tanks and offers 50,000 different items from 70 countries around the world, plus all the groceries and household items one would find in a normal supermarket. I love this store and whenever I go, I spend about two hours there (buying and browsing) and still haven’t seen everything.
I’ve just hit the highlights….if you want to learn more about Jungle Jim’s, click on the following link.

Here is a link to videos and pictures that I took at Jungle Jim’s

Post to this thread if you are interested in attending. I don’t need an exact count since we aren’t planning an official tour but would like to know who and how many to expect.
I hope that you can join us….I look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new! _________________ Sheryle

SHERYLE, Things are not looking good for Jim and I too make the trip to Jungle Jims. With my health and my traveling condition it's always a waiting game for us to go anywhere. And now that Jim's old company got bought out by this new one...Vacations are done alot differently...they are still trying to figure that out , plus the On-Call Schedule too. If things change for the better I'll let you know, because I would like to see everyone and check out JJ's HUGS, Debbie _________________ Debbie
