Hey there:
Notice nothing has been said about wine since last June...But here goes
I am a big Godfather Fan Have a can of Genco Olive Oil (which is good).
Saw 2 different kinds of Coppola wines the other day & decided to give it a try. Picked one from his diamond collection 2010 Pinot Noir.
Boy what a disappointment........Has nice fragrance & color but leaves a hot, bitter taste in your mouth ...but not until you have swallowed it
I guess after I dump the rest out I will have a bottle to display. What a waste of money.
Y'all take care...

I also think the Pinot Noir from the Diamond Collection is a little hard to take. Very hot going down. We have toured the Coppala Winery and loved it. We joined their wine club and are still enjoying the whites we have gotten. We have a couple of the red that are still aging and maybe pull them out to celebrate a big event.....maybe our 45th anniversary. I always cook with the wine that I don't like.....better than pouring it down the sink.
We stopped at a small family winery in North Carolina and took a tour and I bought a case. No one has tried it yet, but me, so I'll see how Danny and Alyssa like it. We can stop at the winery again, when we are on our way to Raleigh in a couple of weeks. I'll bring a couple of bottles to Nicole so we can have them at the luncheon for Jordan's First Holy Communion. _________________ Karen

Maybe I should look for his white wine-sounds like it is a little more palatable. Never thought about cooking with it tho...dang could have used it in the chili I made Friday....altho I think it was already hot enough
Take care...

Pat, it was an on-line deal, you had to buy a whole case. It was a fantastic bargain. I was curious to see if I ever got it because our state does not allow wine to be shipped here. The shipped it to NY and then to here, which to me still doesn't seem like it could be done. Oh well, I got my wines and there weren't any I didn't like, which surprised the heck out of me. _________________ Patti

Pattit:
When we moved here Suwannee was a "dry" county-no alcohol with over 6% allowed. You had better not get caught going over to the next county bringing back rum, whiskey, etc.
Now we are a wet county, by vote last fall.
I guess if the packaging doesn't say booze in here it may slip thru.
We had been buying cigarettes from the Ukraine a few years ago & that was supposed to be a nono. We were paying about 12.00 a carton for Marlboros including duty taxes. The boxes said nothing at all about cigarettes.
Take care...
