NATASCHA ETSCHEID'S MENTOR PROFILE
My South American Corner
Why I want to be mentor in this category:
I'm brazilian...i eat this kind of food since i was little, my family is very mixed (mom from Bahia, mother-in-law from Sao Paulo)...each region have it's taste....so many to try...i like to take some vacation around my country...to learn new recipes...in south for example you find german cuisine...but i also know it...because my father is german...
What inspires me in this category:
I traveled to some countries and i rarelly found a good brazilian food...even in brazil sometimes the taste is terrible...so i've learned...if you want something well done do it!
I'm Brazilian so Brazilian food is easy for me. My mom is from Bahia, so i've learned a lot with her and after that i bought some books, learned more with my mother-in-law and my grandma and so on. The good thing is that only with a brazilian you will learn the everyday food.
Biggest Lesson Learned:
Making a good acarajé...
Books, classes, teachers that have helped me:
My first master was my mom and grandma...after that i started buying books to learn from others regions of my country...
Education, Awards, Pro Experience:
I started cooking when i was 3...i never stoped...that was my training...i like to have guests over so cooking was always in my life...until i got to a point where i started trying new things...discovering...
