Entertaining should be entertaining not intimidating.
What inspires me in this category:
I love to cook. Hate when I eat out with friends and feel like we could have done better at ours.
Experience:
If you come for dinner you'll eat well and chances are you won't leave sober.
Biggest Lesson Learned:
Dinner Party meals shouldn't take all day. A frazzled host is a recipe for disaster. Easy meals, fresh produce and good wine.
Books, classes, teachers that have helped me:
Dad is a master griller. MIL is a cooking teacher. Apparently I'm a great student. Love Jamie Oliver and Julia Child. Cook cook and more cooking. Wife and mother of almost four under five.
Education, Awards, Pro Experience:
Experience. Still have not graduated to matching china. Never will. Have the award for fitting the most people around the smallest table. Highlights. The guests come back for more.
My Tips:
- If a guest takes a sip from the finger bowl, you should too. It's all about making people feel comfortable.
