What inspires me in this category: I love Italian / Sicilian cooking because it is my heritage. Passed down from generation to generation, cooking has always been part of my upbringing. Inspired by my family members as far back as my Great Grandmother, cooking has been a passion of mine for over 30 years.
Experience: I have been cooking for 20+ years and specialize in Italian / Sicilian cuisine. I have cooked both professionally as well as recreational and I continue to grow my knowledge of food daily.
Biggest Lesson Learned: Patience! With everything in life, patience is a key factor to success. Additionally it is important to be passionate about the food you create. The more love and care you put into your food the better it looks, tastes, and comforts and brings smiles those you present it to!
Books, classes, teachers that have helped me: Trial & Error. I have read endless books, have had extensive one on one training, but at the end of the day, it is hands on experience that I feel has gotten me where I am today.
Education, Awards, Pro Experience: I have 3 years of one on one training with a culinary graduate, and cooked in the kitchen of a private school for a group of 100 students and 20 staff for 3 years. I have worked in many restaurants until leaving the culinary field professionally for business. I have recently returned and have entered the Food Blogging industry and looking to re-enter the culinary world again professionally as well as recreational.
