My Smoothie Corner

Why I want to be mentor in this category:
I don't consider myself an expert, but I've made enough smoothies in my life to offer some assistance to those who want to explore smoothie making.

What inspires me in this category:
Our members inspire me!

My boyfriend makes a smoothie every day.. They are a great way to replace meals when you want to cut down on food intake.

Biggest Lesson Learned:
Blenders expand liquids when they run.. the air makes the process out of control if you fill the blender up too much.

My Tips:

  • Always seal the lid.
  • Don't be afraid to add things like flax seed, chocolate chips, coconut or whatever flavors you like.

My Ganache Corner

Why I want to be mentor in this category:
I like to help!

I have made ganache for years.

Biggest Lesson Learned:
Ganach reacts to temperature - don't be afraid to try various chocolate.

My Tips:

  • Ganach reacts to temperature so if it's too thin, put it in the freezer for a few to stiffen up.
  • If the ganache is too thick, leave it out for 15 minutes or so on the counter. It will smooth out.
  • Instead of using a solid piece of chocolate and cutting it into pieces, you can use chocolate chips!
