My Bread Corner

Why I want to be mentor in this category:
I love to bake breads and pastry. It is my favorite pastime. I just want to help others love it as much as I do.

Experience:
I have been baking for 13 years. I have made a wide variety of breads such as challah, dinner rolls, sourdough, and much more.

Biggest Lesson Learned:
I've learned that bread baking takes much trial and error. While you may be frustrated in the beginning, you have to be calm and persevre.

Books, classes, teachers that have helped me:
My biggest inspiration is Sarabeth Levine. She is the owner of Sarabeth's Kitchen in New York. Her story reminds me that even the average person can become a great pastry chef through raw talent.

My Tips:

  • Patience is key to bread perfection. Never loose it.
  • Always let your yeast bloom for at least five minutes. This ensures you know it is alive.
  • Do not let your bread rise over the reccomended rising time, it will fall and never rise again.
