Why I want to be mentor in this category:
I have successfully created many recipes and am willing to help people have more success in their scone making abilities.

What inspires me in this category:
I love scones!

I have developed numerous scone recipes that have been published in many magazines, including Bon Appetit, Garden Plate and Cooking Pleasures.

Biggest Lesson Learned:
Cold unsalted butter does not mean room-temperatured unsalted butter nor does it mean cold regular butter.

Books, classes, teachers that have helped me:
Mrs. Gray, my Scottish teacher in Food & Nutrition, turned me into a scone lover.

Education, Awards, Pro Experience:
I am a food writer and either through reader contributions or for actual recipe developing, I have had numerous scone recipes published in glossy magazines.

My Tips:

  • Have your ingredients ready (mise en place) before starting to bake.
  • The butter MUST be cold and unsalted.
