Why I want to be mentor in this category: I've come to learn that there is etiquette when hosting a party. It's really not something you throw together and I have first hand knowledge and skill when it comes to that.
What inspires me in this category: I assume people should know that creating a warm and inviting atmosphere is key along with a "flow" that keeps your guest wanting more. I was wrong and it inspires me to share what I've learned with others.
Experience: I have two passions well maybe three, baking, fashion and hosting fabulous women centered social parties ie shopping parties and vending parties. I've been doing it for about 6years. I owned a boutique about 6years ago and hosted tea parties, and social gatherings. Intimacy is my specialty 5-50 people anything else is an event and well I leave that to event planners.
Biggest Lesson Learned: Time, management, crowd pleasing and the importance of RSVp's.
Books, classes, teachers that have helped me: The hospitality industry has helped me, my husband and I frequent boutique hotels, b&b's, resorts and sometimes fine dining. Their atention to detail is impeccable along with their zeal to make your stay although sometimes short the best you've ever had and that's what I feel when it comes to hosting a great party.
Education, Awards, Pro Experience: No credentials juat trial and error over the past couple of years. Most professionals a born by learning from their mistakes
Hospitality is the key to hosting a great party, multi-tasking while keeping a smile on your guest face is a skill that should come natural but can be learned. Always smile even when the pressure is on.
