Why I want to be mentor in this category:
Friends and co-workers usually ask me for recipe advice so I guess I already do some mentoring.
What inspires me in this category:
Baking can be a really good way to spend time with family. My grandma taught me and I can teach my kids and the joy continues to get passed along!
Experience:
I have been baking (or at least trying to help) since I was about 5 years old and could stand on a chair at the counter at my grandma's side.
Biggest Lesson Learned:
Don't forget to turn the timer on!
Books, classes, teachers that have helped me:
I love cookbooks- especially ones that are put together by churches and organizations. These always seem to have the recipes that my family likes!
Education, Awards, Pro Experience:
I have no official training - just lots of practice.
My Tips:
- Modifying a recipe is a good thing! If you don't like how it turns out, don't make it like that again, if you do like how it turns out -woohoo!
