Why I want to be mentor in this category:
Because I spent to much time with trial and errors that I hope to save others from the failures and just have great outcomes!
What inspires me in this category:
I am passionate about kosher cuisine because that is who I am. I love to watch cooking shows and just dream of how something that looks great can be adapted into my diet.
I have been cooking and baking on my own since I was a teenager. I spent a long time trying to find and make interesting substitutes that would work in regards to kosher laws.
Biggest Lesson Learned:
There are some things that no matter what you do to them, will not convert over into a great, kosher (non-dairy) dessert... and there are some things that will absolutely suprise you!
- Plain soymilk is a great alternative for dairy when making pareve desserts but you must adjust the sugar!
- If you make challah, 3 risings will give that deep old fashioned taste that seems to be missing with many commercial challah.
