THEVEGGIEQUEEN'S MENTOR PROFILE
My Vegan Corner
Why I want to be mentor in this category:
I have a lot of experience to share. The other categories that I am interested in are pressure cooking but more importantly VEGETABLES but I didn't see the latter one listed.
What inspires me in this category:
It's what I do on a regular basis and if people learn how to eat more vegan meals they will help their health and the health of our planet.
I have been teaching vegan cooking for about 20 years to junior college students and the public.
Biggest Lesson Learned:
Make food taste great and don't talk about the fact that it's vegan, and people will like it.
Books, classes, teachers that have helped me:
My own cookbook, The Veggie Queen: Vegetables Get the Royal Treatment, Lorna Sass and Great Vegetarian Cooking Under Pressure, Becoming Vegetarian and Becoming Vegan.
Mother Nature is the best teacher.
Education, Awards, Pro Experience:
I am a Registered Dietitian and cooking teacher at Santa Rosa Junior College. I have a Master's Degree in Nutrition. My vegan recipe just won a radio recipe contest against 3 meat dishes.
