Jamie Oliver.


Experience:
1 Year working in a 1 Michelin Star Vegetarian restaurant in Napa, California. 1 1/2 Years working in a 1 Michelin Star Health Conscious restaurant in New York, New York. Bachelor of Science Degree in Culinary Nutrition at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island.


Biggest Lesson Learned:
The Fresher the better. Keep it simple. Healthy food does NOT compromise taste. Don't let the tips of your fingers end up in the food. They won't taste good.


Books, classes, teachers that have helped me:
Failing. And Failing again. Gordan Ramsey conditioning. Cooking without butter or cream. Repeatedly. Over and over.

Magna Cum Laude. Ubuntu. Rouge Tomate.

My Tips:

  • Brown Rice is a godsend. As are Chilis. And Spicy Peppers

Why I want to be mentor in this category:
Because it is my goal to set the standard for American Healthy Food. Food that is Good For You.


What inspires me in this category:
I feel this is a very open field where there is an enormous potential for growth. American people need help and guidance from someone who makes Good for you Food Sexy.

Cooking food that is good for you does not need to be tasteless, there are ways to bring out flavor without compromising nutrition.

  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil is our best friend. Butter is not bad for you; only in small doses.
