ABOUT ME

I am Dominican, live in Florida, married with two cute sons. My favorite hobby and ultimate passion is baking and cake decorating. I also enjoy entertaining during the holidays and cooking for family and friends. My big dilemma is that I have a sweet tooth and I don't believe in low fat, light desserts. I always go for the rich, ooey-gooey stuff. BUT...at the same time, I watch what I eat, so there!... My life is a constant contradiction between decadent dessert cookbooks and healthy/diet books, so I struggle to find a balance between the two. I find baking very soothing and relaxing. I enjoy trying new recipes but I am not into fancy, complicated gourmet dishes. I prefer easy but delicious down home comfort recipes. My favorites are from Southern Living and Taste of Home cookbooks. I have a large recipe collection and would love to exchange true and tried recipes with others and make new friends in the process.

Baking/Cooking Training: Wilton Cake Decorating classes I, II & III, Wilton Fondant Class, Wilton Gumpaste Flowers Class, Community College Cake Decorating Courses Intermediate and Advanced.

Favorite Food: Seafood, Poultry, Fruits, cake and Ice Cream

Favorite Food Moment: Every year on Thanksgivings. I cook and bake for three days on a row before that holiday and then I sit back and enjoy all the oohs and ahhs from my family and friends.

Favorite Cooking Word: Moist, Decadent, ooey gooey.

Favoriate Restaurant: Red Lobster

Favorite Chef: Ina Garten, Paula Deen, The Neelys.

Interests: Cooking, baking, cake decorating, collecting recipes, dancing, and reading magazines.

Books: I enjoy reading Cookbooks, Self Help books and diet and nutrition books.

Music: Being dominican, I love merengue, bachata and salsa. My favorite spanish artist is Juan Luis Guerra. I'm a big fan of Celine Dion's music.

Travel: I have traveled to Canada, Puerto Rico, Bahamas and St Thomas. I would love to go to Costa Rica, Hawaii, France and Australia.
