Here For: Finding new recipes to experiment with.
Want to Learn How: Anything that catches my attention. I like baking and cooking equally.
Heard about BakeSpace From: A Magazine
Occupation: Technical Editor for Engineering Firm
Industry: Legal Services
Cooker or Caker: Both
Bake/Cook Frequency: 1-5 times a week
Baking/Cooking Training: Just watching my mother and grandmother when I was growing up.
Favorite Food: I confess to being a carbaholic, so pasta dishes are at the top of my list, followed closely by any other receptacle for butter...breads, potatoes, etc. Aside from that, I tend to lean toward the spicy.
Favorite Food Moment: Watching a friend's three daughters one day, I had the genius idea to keep them busy making sugar cookies. At the time, the only ones I had made are the kind you press with a glass, rather than cut-outs. You then decorate them with sugar crystals, etc. What was I thinking?! Aside from the house being covered with sugar by the time we were done, one of them knocked the bowl with the raw eggs off the table and the oldest did the carpet commercial dive across the room to catch the bowl, but the momentum kept the eggs flying and splattered everywhere! A fun but messy afternoon. :)
Favoriate Restaurant: Semolina's ... pasta of course ... New Orleans
Favorite Chef: My Mom
In My Town Try: Chicken Riggies are the local fave
Interests: Cooking, baking, poking in antique shops, reading/watching scary books/movies, tormenting my nephews, cuddling with my niece/dog "Tyler"
Languages: English, a tiny bit of Spanish and even less Armenian
Books: Scary or thought-provoking fiction. I'm not so much into historical novels and definitely not into romance novels.
Music: I'll go from Gregorian Chants to Led Zeppelin to Elton John and Armenian Folk Music in the course of an afternoon. I have pretty eclectic tastes.
TV/Movies: I'm a Lost junkie!! Survivor comes next, then whatever I happen to catch. As for movies, I love scary movies or movies that seem like they're going in one direction then pull a 180 on you.
Travel: Don't get much of a chance for travel. Would love to see Armenia some day. Most of my free travel time is spent with friends/family in New Orleans or on Cape Cod.
