Amazing how this site it going since I first joined in the beginning. Ive been expanding my cooking, but not my baking as such into recently. Ive even experimented with ice creams, custards, etc. Soon Ill be making a lemon kiwi cheesecake, a quince tart, congac truffles, and a chili souffle. Ill also be dabbling in cookies such as the chessboard cookie and a brownie crackle-topped cookie.
I don't think I ever responded to you but regardless, I want to compliment you on a great site. I'll admit I've not been on a whole lot but finally got around to posting my first recipe. Let's see where I go from here. Say hello to Erik for me and I wish you much continued success. FYI - the site looks good on the iPad, too! :)

Babette dear - are you nice or what. Within hours of my query (whole baked fish?), you responded with suggestions. Because I'm sometimes computer-challenged, I ended up doing what this site inspires: ("Necessity is the mother of invention") and winged it by putting a cranberry/balsamic pork glaze onto 3 bass. I love that recipies that I try and add here on Bakespace I will not loose, they are here, both for you to try out and for me to find again :) I have soooo many recipies that I have collected through the years and some that I had tried once and loved, I lost and went into great lengths to find again. hi babbette, thanks for all your help in signing up..i just kept messing up somehow. this looks like a nice place to be!! p.s., i absolutely love macaroni and cheese, too..there's a soul food restaurant nearby that makes the most scrumptous i have ever had, and that includes my mom's (blasphemy, but there you have it) mine doesn't come out good enough to serve to company, but i sometimes make it for myself..my favorite are the "hardies" the crunchy overbrowned stuff that sticks to the pan on the sides and bottom..
Just joined and it looks to be a very good site.....after having 5 days of no power and living off the land so to speak it's a nice welcome to get connected again to the net....

Babette, I'm a member of Group Recipes as well, and after having just scrutinized the terms of both their website and Bakespace, I want to congratulate you on creating a website with terms that doesn't make its users worry about IP and allows them to contribute freely. After reading the terms of the Group Recipes site, I will no longer be participating on their site as I find their terms to be highly unreasonable.
So, this is just a long-winded message to say thanks for providing this website, and keep up the great work!
