To mark the opening of WAITRESS, BakeSpace is having a "Name Your Own Life-Inspired Pie" Contest. Entering is quick and easy, and you can win some pretty tasty merchandise inspired by the film. To submit your own life-inspired pie: 1) Ask me to join your network of friends (click the kitchen helper link on the right) and send me an invite. 2) Once I accept, leave me a brownie point with the name of your own life-inspired pie and a brief list of ingredients. (FYI- The brownie point button is at the bottom of my profile and you can only see if if we're friends). NOTE TO BAKESPACE VISITORS: We're glad you're checking out the BakeSpace Community, but please note that only BakeSpace members can create a profile, add friends to their network and leave brownie points. Members who submit the five most interesting pie names (as judged by a small but dedicated panel of BakeSpace staff members) will win a nifty prize packages. We'll announce the winners in the next BakeSpace newsletter. ***This contest is over. Thanks for playing!*** Movie Trivia:The "Waitress" crew included three so-called "pie wranglers" whose primary job was to roll out crusts, slice fruit and whip heavy cream. Over the 20-day shoot, says chief pie wrangler Erin Eagleton, the crew learned to improvise, using frozen dough and a blow-torch to give each pie a golden top.
