Want to Learn How: I want to learn to make things I've never tried before. I want to learn new tecniques and to make as much as I can "from scratch", without processed foods.

Bake/Cook Frequency: Every day

Baking/Cooking Training: I was raised in my mom's German (Bavarian) Deli. All of my cooking skills are self-taught from watching a lot of chefs on television (not necessarily limited to Food Network, and trial and error and never giving up.

Favorite Food: Mexican and German, since that's my genetic background. Homemade soups, bread. I've perfected the art of searing and braising and making great pan sauces-- not gravies, but pan sauces, which aren't necessarily fattening but quick and delicious.

Favorite Food Moment: That would have to be meeting Tyler Florence, in person, as a food festival. I was lucky enough to be chosen to eat the beautiful meal that he prepared, on stage-- the next day, he recognized me and said he'd visited my food blog! I was both self-conscious and very honored.

Favorite Chef: Ina Garten, Tyler Florence, Anne Burrell, Mario Batali and too many to list

In My Town Try: ...to appreciate the beautiful town I live in, and to appreciate that people fly from all over the world to see Carmel, Pebble Beach and Cannery Row...and this is my daily commute to work! I am very blessed.

Interests: At home, besides having kitchen therapy-- growing herbs and garden vegetables & photography. My Arabian horse. Reading, and spending time with my wonderful husband.

Languages: Well, English. I understand German, but am so rusty in speaking it since my mother passed away in 2002.

Books: Cookbooks, of course. Mysteries/Thrillers. Historical Fiction, like "Pillars of the Earth.

Music: Eclectic-- Classical to Classic Rock, Contemporary Christian.

Travel: Many parts of the world, since I was a travel agent for almost 15 years!
