I am an American living in Brazil since 1998. In the US I worked as pizza chef to support my career as an artist. Since moving to Brazil my creative energies became more centered in the kitchen. Although I have painted and exhibited since moving here I also have been writing freelance recipes and food articles and teaching cooking. I have a blog in Portuguese daminhacozinha.blogspot.com and recently begun my bolg in English kitcheninbrazil.wordpress.com. I have extensively researched Brazilian cuisine, especially churrasco. Moving to Brazil has also forced me to figure out how to make the things I could find everywhere living in the US, such as tortillas and peanut butter. Moving my home far from home has taught me to be a better cook. I hope that I have something of interest to share and I hope to learn while sharing.
