Bake/Cook Frequency: 1-5 times a week
Favorite Food: Bread, hot and fresh out of the oven. With butter, of course.
Favorite Food Moment: Some of my earliest memories involve cooking with my mother. I stood on a chair beside her, making cookies or cakes or our own spaghetti sauce. Now that I am losing her to Alzheimer's, cooking is something that we can still share and that helps us connect again across time and space.
Favorite Cooking Word: Cook until done.
Favoriate Restaurant: Pierponts in Kansas City
Favorite Chef: Julia Child, Jacques Pepin, Maryann Esposito, Nick Malgieri, Flo Braker, and Alton Brown
In My Town Try: Our surprising little grocery store. They've recently put in a line of organics and stock some high end products like King Arthur Flour and Green and Blacks Chocolate. Not bad for a town of about 1400.
Interests: Cooking, health, computers and website design.
Languages: I can ask "Where are my cows?" in several languages. I'm sure it'll come in handy some day.
Books: I've been reading practically since I could hold a book in my hands. But for BakeSpace purposes, I love cookbooks. I love to read them and get ideas - I rarely cook directly from them. And I have to forcibly restrain myself from buying more.
Music: Without music life would be a mistake.
