Joining us this week is NYC food photographer Evi Abeler of WhipandClick.com (also follow Evi on G+) where she will be sharing photo advice based on the food photos you submit. That’s right! Your photos reviewed. So grab your best photos and even your biggest fails and submit them to our show. Evi will review each photo submitted and give us an honest critique and insights on how we can all take better food photos.

Online video production tools and communities such as YouTube and Google Hangouts have inspired thousands of home cooks around the world to share their cooking skills. From cooking demos to culinary talk shows like our own KitchenParty, indie producers can created, produce and syndicated fun food videos faster, and some might say more entertaining, than ever before.

That’s right – grab your favorite recipe and share it with Tinker Bell fans around the world. Since “Secret of the Wings” is a celebration of sisterhood, we’d love each recipe to include a short description about what sisterhood means to you. Perhaps a funny story about your sister, or a few words about how you’ve shared the recipe with the “sisters” in your life. The story doesn’t need to be long — just a paragraph or two. But what if you don’t have a sister? “Sisterhood” can come in many forms… a friend who’s like a sister, a coworker who’s always there for you, or maybe your daughter or mother who loves you like a sister. It’s all about the spirit of sisterhood! So come and play along.

How to submit your recipe & join the fun:

“Secret of the Wings”
Now on DVD

1. Grab your favorite recipe.
2. Find a fun photo of you and your sister (doesn’t matter how old the photo is).
3. When you’re ready to submit your recipe, head over to the “Add a Recipe” page on BakeSpace.com (the Web’s tastiest food community) and fill out the simple one-page recipe form. You don’t need to join BakeSpace to add your recipe, but if you decide you’d like to create your own online kitchen, membership is free! Who knows… you might want to create your own cookbook too!
4. And that’s it!

If you’re feeling adventurous, you can also submit a video with your recipe. Simply copy and paste your video’s embedded code (e.g., from YouTube) with your recipe submission form.

Italian Margarita by Imstuffed

According to wikipedia, there is no solid proof who “invented” the Margarita, but some think the Margarita was invented in 1941 at Hussong’s Cantina in Ensenada, Mexico, by bartender Don Carlos Orozco. Legend has it that one slow afternoon in the bar, Don Carlos was experimenting with mixing drinks when Margarita Henkel, the daughter of a German ambassador ordered a drink. Don Carlos offered Margarita a taste of his new recipe and then named it after her for being the first person to taste it. Cute story.. maybe one day someone will name a drink after me and call it “The Babette.”

Thankfully we don’t have to go all the way to Mexico for a margarita. You can even whip up a pitcher this weekend!

If you’re making a large batch of margaritas, try this “How to make a big batch of margaritas” recipe from kc10:

When I was younger, I used to tend bar!! We were known for our Margaritas!! We’d mix this stuff, literally, by the gallon! Thursday night was Margarita night and we went through many, many gallons of this!! We’d actually start mixing it up earlier in the day and kept about a 1/4 of the big cooler in the kitchen well stocked with the gallon jugs! We had these big glasses we called fish bowls, because that’s about what they looked like, and when we got an order for a Margarita, all we had to do was add the ice and the pour it into the ‘fish bowls’!! Saved ourselves a LOT of time by having it ready ahead of time. It’s still my favorite Margarita!! Enjoy! But also drink responsibly, please!!

• 1/2 bottle tequila
• 1/2 bottle Triple Sec
• 3 bottles Mr. & Mrs. T Sweet/Sour mix

Here’s another favorite…

Knock-You-Naked Margaritas

• 1 bottle of your favorite beer
• 1 12 oz can frozen limeade
• 1 12 oz can sprite (or diet)
• 1 12 oz can tequila

Mix all ingredients until well-blended. Serve over ice with a twist of lime.
