Join the KitchenParty Live Hangout on November 13th as we chat live with SCHARFFEN BERGER Chocolate Expert Cy Olney about his favorite chocolate and wine pairings. He’ll answer your questions live and walk us through easy pairings you can recreate at home to the delight of your guests. The discussion will have something useful and inspiring for everyone – from the chocolate novice to the most seasoned sweet connoisseur.

    When tasting wine with chocolate should the wine be spit out or drank with the chocolate which is why we pair it and what are we looking for in that pairing.

      Hi Gary … we drank… which is why we probably got a bit tipsy. 🙂 Cy said we should try the wine, then let the chocolate melt in our mouths. So I think it\’s more about getting the flavors of the wine and then battling out the flavor of the chocolate – not really drinking them at the same time. 🙂

    Is chocolate wine pairing only for red wines? Can it be also done with white wines?

      Hi Gary – we tried a chardonnay with Semisweet 62% and an Eldarado Gold Dessert Wine with the Coconut and Macadamia chocolate – OMG.. that was to die for. I think the key is milk and lighter chocolate with whites — darker chocolate as the wine gets heavier.
