Why I Love This Recipe

Ingredients You'll Need

2 sprays cooking spray
1 medium onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
8 oz low fat sausage, smoked, sliced 1/4 inch thick
1/4 t thyme
3/4 C chicken broth
30 oz canned great northern beans, rinsed and drained
1 1/2 T canned tomato paste
1/2 C dried plain breadcrumbs


Preheat broiler

Use oven safe skilled. Coat with cooking spray and heat.

Add onion, garlic and sausage to pain and saute until onion is tender (3-4 minutes)

Add thyme, broth, beans and tomato paste

simmer 10 minutes

Sprinkle bread crumbs over beans

Place skillet under broiler until breadcrumbs are browned (1-2 minutes)

Serving ~ 1 3/4 C

9 Points Plus per serving

I add chopped red pepper, Tabasco and red pepper flakes
