APPLE CRISP PIE
1- cup all-purpose flour
1- cup sugar
1- tsp. baking soda
1/2- tsp. salt
1 1/4- tsp. ground cinnamon, divided
1/4- tsp. plus 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg, divided
1- egg, beaten
3 lb. tart apples, peeled and cut into eighths
1/3- cups butter, melted
Heat oven to 350 deg. Grease a 9" pie pan. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, 1/4 tsp. cinnamon and 1/8 tsp. nutmeg. With hands or fork, mix in egg until mixture is crumbly.
Toss apples with 1 tsp. cinnamon and 1/4 tsp. nutmeg. Place in prepared pan. Sprinkle with flour mixture; pat down. Pour melted butter over apples and flour mixture.
Bake 1 hour or until topping is crispy and browned.
