1/3 c butter
2/3 c sugar
1t almond extract (or vanilla)
2 c flour
2t baking powder
1 1/2 c slivered almonds
Mix together all ingredients in the order listed.
Divide dough into 2 balls and shape each ball into a 2" wide log.
Place both logs on a lightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake 375° for 25 minutes.
Cool, then slice into 1/2" slices and place again on cookie sheet.
Bake 325° 6-8 min, turn, and bake another 6-8 min.
Dip in melted chocolate after second baking.
