1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
4 egg yolks, beaten lightly
1 tsp vanilla
3 tbsp milk
1 cup sifted cake flour
1 tsp baking powder
4 egg whites
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup sliced almonds
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp cinnamom
Cream butter and beat in 1/2 cup sugar and salt
Add yolks, vanilla and milk mixing well
Sift flour with baking powder, add to mixture. Mix well.
Spread batter in 2 8" round greased pans.
Beat egg whites till very light.
Add 3/4 cup sugar gradually.
Spread on top of mixture in pans.
Sprinkle with almonds.
Mix sugar and cinnamom and sprinkle on top.
Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.
Loosen edges with a knife, cool and remove from pan.
