Apple Cake

Ingredients

1 1/4 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 T sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 egg yolk
2 T milk

3 cups cored and sliced apples

Topping:
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 T flour
1/4 tsp cinnamon
2 T butter or margarine


Sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Cut in 1/2 cup butter; mix 1 egg yolk with 2 T milk (enough to hold the dough together). Cover the bottom of a 9x13 pan with mix.



Arrange the apple slices on the pastry dough. Mix the topping ingredients by combining with a pastry cutter. Spread over the top of the apples. Bake at 375° for 50 minutes.
