Ingredients You'll Need

1 1/2 pounds cooking apples
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground sugar
1 teaspoon grated nutmeg
2 tablespoons butter
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter 2/3 cup milk

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F

Put apples into baking dish.

Mix sugar with spices; sprinkle on apples. Dot with butter.

Sift flour, salt, and baking flower together; cut in butter. Add milk; mix with fork until ingredients are just blended. You need to knead lightly on a floured surface. Roll out; cut into 2 inch rounds. Arrange it on top of apples; press sides down well.

Next, brush them lightly with milk. Bake 25 minutes. Reduce the heat to 350 degrees F; cook 20 extra minutes.
