Applesauce

I really only know what this tastes like with apples from Vicki's trees, but I bet your local apples could do it justice! -Liz

CATEGORIES

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 medium cooking apples, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg

DIRECTIONS

Heat water and apples to boiling over medium heat; reduce heat. Simmer uncovered; stirring occasionally to break up apples, until tender, 10-15 minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients. Heat to boiling again; boil and stir for one minute. If the applesauce is still too chunky for your taste, put in blender and mix briefly. After the applesauce is cooled, enjoy or freeze in freezer containers.
