1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 & 3/4 sticks butter, cut into pieces
1 jar apricot preserves, 10 to 12 ounces (raspberry is great too)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Mix together all ingredients except preserves.
Press one half of the mixture into a buttered 8" square pan.
Spread with the jar of preserves.
Sprinkle second half of mixture over the top and pat lightly.
Bake for 30 to 40 minutes until light brown.
Let cool completely, then cut into squares.

These are delicious as a dessert or snack and are very easy to make. I have also made them with raspberry preserves - equally wonderful.
