Asian Style Pasta Salad
2 Tb oil, such as grapeseed or canola
2 Tb rice vinegar
1 tsp dark sesame oil
1 Tb good soy sauce
1/2 tsp chili garlic sauce, Rooster brand
6 oz whole wheat fusilli, or another twisted pasta
1 good sized stalk of broccoli, cut in florets, blanched
1 medium red pepper, strips cut in thirds
1/4 cup chopped shallot or scallions
Cook the pasta in boiling salted water until a little more than al dente.
Put the pasta in a large bowl with the cut vegetables.
Stir the first five ingredients together, then pour over the salad and stir well. If the pasta is still warm it will absorb the dressing well.
